Questions about maintaining humidity and heat in sgfc.

Hey all I'm new to cultivation and I'm setting up to do my first grow. Debated between mono tub and sgfc, decided that the cakes were better for a first timer but I'm concerned about maintaining the environment in my sgfc. I live in Ontario and it's dry and cold right now. The house I'm staying in drops to 65F at night and the dry winter heat doesn't help with the humidity.
I had an idea to place sealed jar full of distilled water in the center of my sgfc with a aquarium heater in the jar. The idea is hopefully this could introduce heat without the drying air currents of a space heater or other similar device in the room. Do you think this could be an effective heat source? My other concern is that because the temperature inside will have a great difference to the outside this may cause condensation on the inside of the box. I'm unsure what effect this will have on the humidity (negative or positive). Does anyone have any idea if this aquarium heater idea is any good or is there something I'm overlooking? Thanks for the help.

you are describing the heatbomb. they 'work' but i dont think you need one. a lot of members live in canadia so they will chime in about the humidity issues.

Heat the room not the chamber. Recipe for failure if the FC is warmer than the room.

Dang I was hoping to get away with tricks I'm learning more and more as I study its probably best not to deviate too much from a chosen tek. When you heat a room do you just run a space heater with a thermostat and a humidifier in the same room? I feel like just running a heater in the winter would just strip the air instantly of all moisture. Or even with a dry environment do you think you could maintain humidity with additional misting and fanning?

I think I don't worry about it unless it is a problem. Every house in the Midwest would be 40F inside if it wasn't for heaters/central air/furnace.

Agreed, I would try out the SGFC first and if you run into problems then start devising your master plan. (Trial and Error) Good luck dude!
