inoculated 12/15/16 around midnight. so far these are the only jars showing growth up in the front. Penis Envy Uncut multi spore syringe. hard to keep temperature higher than 70-72 Fahrenheit. A few of them were 12/18/16.

They should've been mostly colonized by now if inoculated two weeks ago. When were they sterilized?
What's in those jars? Is that...coffee beans?

Those are rye (prob.) By the looks of things You went from Spore syringe. To Liquid culture to Bulk grain spawn.
Tell me you own a Pressure cooker adleast.
SS to LC is low success rate. SS is not clean. Ever. Especially if you gought it from Crapalphsters.
What the heck is floating in the liquid jar or what the heck is in that jar?
Yeah. PE. go to agar then use grains. You`re not gonna have too much luck unless the spore supplier REALLY REALLY did a good job.

Spores sometimes take this long to germ. That is another reason why I love agar. When you got a full plate it is ready to run through the jar.
Should of gone ms/ss>agar>clean agar transfer>li>grain That way the grain don't have to sit around waiting for the spores to germ on them.
I bet in a few days those grain jars are going to all be around 30%. After that point all you can do is shake and prey. In the meantime I recommend using what you hopefully have left of that spore syringe on agar. All you need is one drop per plate.

I'm just saying, that's the darkest, fattest grain I've ever seen.

I just got an All american 941 and these rye grains were the first thing i sterilized in them (2 hours@ 15 psi). I inoculated with MS Syringe to the rye. that Liquid culture has not been used. I just finished building my first flow hood last week and I am looking forward to finally getting back to agar work. using a glovebox can be a bitch when you have a lot of jars.
in the jar is 200ml water + 0.334g of Light malt extract. I broke up pieces of glass to break up mycelium.
can't wait to use this new flowhood on saturday to make agar and do it the right way. I've had luck with agar but haven't worked with a flowhood yet.

also you asked what's floating in the jar...maybe it's the RTV you see on the back side. It's the way i make my no-tilt liquid culture jars...check out my link so you can see a better picture of the liquid culture jars. How I do no tilt jars

i've had penis envy grow painstakingly slow on me before...I once had a jar take over a month to fully colonize...got excellent fruit...but damn what a pain to wait soooo long.

I also grew PE and they took a good month for jars to colonize. I shook up 3 out of 6 and the jars I shook took2 to 3 days less to colonize

Yea they do look oddly dark for only 2 hours at 15psi. I would have guessed 3 or 4 hours. or two hours at 25psi

I have some PE that I haven't even taken out of package yet. I have only had 6 or 7 MS>WBS>CVG successful. I am working on agar now. Did you make your Flowhood? And if so, how much ya got into it?

I don't think i did anything "strange" in my tek. prepped grains like RR recommends. sterilized rye for 2 hours @15psi and inoculated with MS syringe from a reputable vendor. I ended up tossing that LC jar and not using it. I had mycogone occur twice in my old location and seeing those round "fuzzy" balls (no pun intended) was reminiscent of mycogone from old location...
