I'm fairly confident it's a mosquito, but I'm not too sure. Would love some opinions / input from people with more experience with insect problems.
Soon as it flew out I hunted it down and killed it with the aim of keeping it in tact.
I find mosquitos in my house every few days or so. That's why I suspect its a mosquito. Haven't had gnats in the house for a few months. Hope it's not that. It was a lone soldier though - there wasn't anything else in the chamber.
Pics:

The fourth pic looks the clearest, to me. If you have a hunch and need more pics to confirm I can go turn the little fucker over for a shot from a different angle.

Haha shiiet. Yeah I'm about to go pick up some yellow stickies asap.
Been reading about natural remedies for fungus gnats. Seems like they bury their larvae up to 1/4in in soil. Hmm.. I wonder if they could they lay larvae in cakes?
After some searching the forums I found a mention from RR. Thought I'd share;
Quote:
RogerRabbit said: My favorite method is to cut a lemon in half and leave it near the grow area. The gnats are attracted to the lemon much more than to the mushroom mycelium. You'll see the lemon covered in gnats, and then you sneak up with the vacuum cleaner hose and suck them all up. Works like a charm. RR
