P. Cyans- Second Opinion SF
    #23976742 - 01/02/17 04:59 PM (7 years, 28 days ago)

P. Cyans found in San Francisco.  A midst decaying pine and eucalyptus material, in a field.  I am 99% certain I found cyan's, but I'm still new to this and need a second opinion.

Spore prints are underway.  Here are the pics:

They seemed a bit water logged with the recent rain.  It was the biggest patch I've found yet, but I only took maybe 25% so I could leave what was left.  Also, the location was very busy so I hustled and grabbed the bigger looking ones.

I'll post spore prints in a few hours.

Didn't think they grew in pine. Hope the prints are the right color. Viewing the spores under a microscope couldn't hurt.

Def. Cyans and they look like they're in good shape to me. I would scour the surrounding area. You will often find more patches nearby. I'll usually just walk in a widening spiral looking intently at the ground. This includes shifting leaves and pine needles, looking under ivy and shrubs, etc.

Nice find!  You can see the color of the spores on the caps in some of those photos.
