Word.
Set a goal for yourself Soph, like 10 pushups a day to start, or whatever you're comfortable with, then slowly build from there. Also, you could do a low rep body weight routine to keep toned, you don't have to be a magazine cover model to be fit.
You could do 10 pushups, 10 bench dips, 10 crunches, 10 burpees, 10 squats, 10 jumping jacks, 10 mountain climbers, 10 leg lifts, do this quickly to get your heart rate up, and that shouldn't be to hard, at first you might think your hearts going to explode if you're usually inactive, but after a couple weeks it should get easier, and you can build on your reps/routine at your leisure, just make sure things aren't to easy for you, if things are to easy then you need to work harder by doing more reps, or finding harder exercises. Maybe do this 3 times a week to start, working your way up to 5 times a week, then everyday if you want, or give yourself one day to just bum it and relax.
It will greatly improve your mood, and quality of life in general.

I love this Youtube channel!

start with wall push-ups which are easy as fuck, work your way up to inclined push-ups which are a bit tougher, and once those become easy move to knee push-ups, then from there u work ur way to regular push-ups
This seems like a real good plan of action.
OP, this sounds like you are working on a New Years resolution of getting in shape or losing weight or something.
The biggest thing you can do is just stick with it. No matter what. Don't take more than a day off in a row or you will fall off.
I have the get in shape resolution, but I'm sick as shit so it's gonna have to start a lil late.
Also eat real healthy. Because garbage food will give you garbage results.

I've not tried to do a pushup in a long time. A few years ago I realized my shoulder is to jacked up to really do traditional push ups. And my knees are too jacked up to do the "girl pushups" I dunno what they're called.
And it was really disheartening. Cuz I still tried. Alot. Working out was a big part of my life. But I hurt myself many times trying to do traditional exercises and realized that shit just isn't gonna work anymore.
I try to let a semi-active life help me keep up my upper body strength now. And if I really feel the need there is tai chi. Not really gonna fuck with yoga... seems like I'd still end up hurting myself in that because that's just apparently what I do.

I'm sure there's low impact yoga. Like the stuff for elderly people with messed up joints.
I should get into yoga. Thanks for the idea.

Yoga asanas are really low impact, just dont do the weird pretzel vanity poses But yoga wont get someone in shape either, its supplementary
My aim is to workout every day, if Im too tired I'll do yoga instead to stay limber.

I guess some people don't really care about being physically strong, but planet Earth is a crazy place, and physical strength is one way to make living here far more manageable. The more you can reach homeostasis, physically, the easier it is to focus your mind on virtues and positive, inner qualities.
Get strong, SR!
