What can I do whilst I wait for my agar?

Hi, a lot of my planned projects (like rye to bulk and some bottles) all revolve around having colonised clean agar to inoculate the substrate with. What can I do in the meantime mycology-wise whilst I wait for my agar to colonise? Are there any projects outside of PF teks I can just use an MS syringe on?
I have some agar that is inoculated right now but due to only 48 hours going by it hasnt germinated yet.
Thanks in advance!

The proper thing for a young excited mycologist is to order some from the internet then go drive half the day and search the Chinese stores and waste 3 times more than if he waited and get er done sooner.

Also there are some agar substitutes. https://www.shroomery.org/8514/Agar-substitute for 1 example. you can search for Agar alternatives and try summadatshit

I worded this really badly, sorry. My agar is inoculated but isn't showing growth yet as it's only been 48hours.

it can take longer then 48hr for the spores to germinate. sometimes it can take a week. you need to learn patience.
and you are not supposed to bump your own thread within 24hrs.

Just save your syringe... One drop is enough to start a culture on agar. It can last you a lifetime if you use it wisely.
If you just started your first plates you will have about 2 weeks of transferring mycelium across plates to ensure you have a clean culture.
In that time I would recommend ordering synthetic filter discs and start prepping your grain masters. If you want to have the best chance at a successful first bulk grow, spawning to the bulk substrate with G1 spawn (inoculated from agar) will put you in a better position than having expanded that mycelium and added a possible vector for contamination.
Since you are so new to agar I would stay away from the liquid teks... There is no need for you to complicate the process right now. Simply dropping wedges to grain has been the standard for a long time for a reason.

If you want to start a small grow just to have something going, use a bit of your spore syringe on a jar of RGS. Super easy. Get a couple of twist n loc PP5 jars ... boil some RGS for a half hour, drain for 10 minutes ... fill the jars about half full and PC them for an hour at 15psi. Cool, inoculate with a half ML or so and see what happens. Good chance it will grow out fine and then case and you'll have some fruits in -5-6 weeks Contamination is a much bigger risk when you do Grain expansions to bulk and fruit in a mono. For just a single bottle grow with RGS, if you have a clean syringe, you've got a very good chance it will fruit ... no SGFC needed ... grow it right in the bottle ... about the lowest contam risk there is from syringe spores.
