I would be picking out of names from cultures my bloodline associates with, to clarify that means non-Abrahamic names.

Im part Juden, but its a small fraction, and I find the way Europeans cling to all things Jew to be disturbing.

Not that I have a particular problem with Jews, but its weird, like a Mexican naming their kid Abdullah Yoshimito

I've always been oddly fond of the name Isaac.

Met one of these for the first time fairly recently. It was actually remarkably appropriate. He just seemed like an Elroy.

I met the electronic artist Kalya Scintilla once and found out his first name was fucking Yaygon of all things, which stands out as among the worst names I've yet to encounter in person.

"I have no way of knowing whether you, who eventually will read this record, like stories or not. If you do not, no doubt you have turned these pages without attention. I confess that I love them. Indeed, it often seems to me that of all the good things in the world, the only ones humanity can claim for itself are stories and music; the rest, mercy, beauty, sleep, clean water and hot food (as the Ascian would have said) are all the work of the Increate. Thus, stories are small things indeed in the scheme of the universe, but it is hard not to love best what is our own—hard for me, at least."

Modest,  I have two girls and a boy.  It ain't easy with my girls.  My son is a little more laid back. Could be my specific situation but in my opinion boys are easier to raise

I prefer modern sounding names. I really like the names Lucien, Storm, Blaze, Blade, Karma, Enzo, Aaliyah. It's so much more interesting than names like Matthew or John or Jessica or Ashley or whatever. Literally everybody has those names.

Where I draw the line is just totally random words for names. Celebrities naming their kids Apple or North or West. It doesn't even sound cool to say, it's just weird.

White people need to stop naming their kids after places- Austin, Dakota, Madison, etc.

I actually like the name Austin, but only on girls. I like it when girls have boy names.

My girl and I are coming up with names for our future kids and she keeps throwing out all these lame modern ones lol.

I couldn't agree more it's ridiculous
My best friend just had a kid and he wanted to name him Robert after someone in his life that's important, simple and manly name. Then him and his wife got sepperated because she was being awful to him for years before that and he flipped out and saw someone else briefly. Long story short she named the kid "Tate" because she saw some movie named big man Tate or something. I'm this kids uncle and I hate his name. I don't think she even likes it much ,it was more to piss off my bro. Which is sad and stupid because it only really affects Tate. The rest of the names she picked were worse those like " Brayeah" "Grey" "Aston" . My bro and his wife are now back together too so he could've been named Robert if my bro wasn't an idiot and made a mistake.

My sisters kids names are just as stupid, including (Alister,Alorah,Mildred(Milly)) for the life of me I can't understand why women have such bad taste in names.

I met a guy whose full name was Lucien Blue Remington.

I thought that was the most badass sounding name I've ever heard in my life. Dude sounds like he could be a villain in Blade Runner or something.

When I was a little kid I thought Bob was the worst name ever and used to crack up every time I heard it. Also names that are repeated twice are retarded like John John or Mitch Mitchell shit like that.

I've known a lot of terribly named people. The worst was Quintarrius. I also once knew twins name Bashan (bay-shawn) and Jaquan (jay-kwan). It's like new parents just wanna piss everyone off with their kids' names.

One time an ex thought I got her pregnant. We made a deal that if it was a boy, she got to name it, and I got to name a girl. I was gonna go with Lilith. I don't remember what her choice was, but I remember I thought it sucked. Bentley, or Brantley or Brayden or some terrible thing like that.

@Crystal G: Lucien Blue Remington is a fuckin badass name.

Holy shit, guys! I just looked that ex up on facebook, and she's married now and has a daughter who she calls Lilly. The kid's full name isn't posted anywhere, but I can't help but wonder if she went with the name I chose 6 years prior to her daughter's birth.

Edit: sorry for the double post
