Light cycle? Bulb? I use free ambient light from the sun.
Edit: sometimes i use one of those cheap grow lights from wallmart. The long one. Only during dark periods like sometimes in winter.

na this is my first grow i have a bunch of jars consolidating and colonizing.
this jar was just the one that grew a lot quicker so i decided to fruit this one before i do all the others at once with no experience.
so pretty much im trying to gain knowledge on how to grow them, so when i grow like 12 in a tub i will not be so inexperienced, and probably will result in bigger yield with this gained knowledge
and as for the white and red thing your talking about i assume you mean the milk jug... well thats whats holding everything lol.. and the flat cardboard pole in the back was to hold the hygrometer but the hygrometer fell off due to moisture, so i just put it on the ground of the fc, but the cardboard pole thing is taped onto the saran wrap and cannot come off without ripping it

Its the same principle so you may as well just build regulation sgfc....

Good. Just to let you know you can still do one cake in a big fc. It really would be easier to maintain than that abstract fc.

Well that's not the way to go about it bud, you should have gained the knowledge prior to starting.
I was trying not to let this post bother me but I guess I take this hobby to seriously, more like a passion. It just kinda urks me when I see shit like this. Imo children need to stay in the playground till they at least get a couple chin hairs

i already had all the knowledge , thats how i was able to jus whip this up, i wanted experience tho, someone whos never grown before vs someone who grew a successful cake...who do u think would have a more successful grow
plus the rest all need another week or so, perfect chance to gain experience before i fruit them all

Whipping things up is not the best approach imo. Following a tek to the T is the best approach, oh and a shit ton of patience

I am dying over here! All bullshit aside, if it were me, I would scrap that poorman shit and, without a source for a proper SGFC which I strongly recommend you obtaining especially since you will need one soon, I would put that little fucker in a Tupperware bowl and mist and fan accordingly....

If you're building a proper SGFC anyway, soon it seems for the other cakes that will need it, why not just build it from the beginning? Honestly, you're not gaining any special knowledge at all from the ghetto version you've made and, it may in fact teach you one thing ... do things the right way the first time.
I mean seriously, why bother with that setup and the effort to make it when you could just make one the right way, since you've indicated you're doing that anyway?
-------------------- "The universe is endless, limitless and infinite. Any effort to define it's boundaries is an attempt to overcome ignorance. We are physical, mental and spiritual beings ... there is no beginning and there is no end. There is only memory. Our repeated loss of memory experiences create the illusion of beginnings and ends. Immortality is the ability to retain full memory through all consciousness transformations. Loss of memory is man's greatest curse and, in very real terms, death." -- Ancient Taoist Master

You should build your SGFC. It'll be hard to learn or gain experience with something so uncontrolled... and I would say that if/when your hygrometer breaks, don't bother buying a new one. Misting and fanning a proper SGFC daily keeps the rh high. Good luck!

People keep knocking this dude but that "ghetto device" is one from this site.
Obviously they DID READ or they would not have made it to where they are.
Not everyone has excess money. People gotta start somewhere. [another semi-cliche]
I'm partial to doing a monotub and stocking up for a bit personally but I sure as shit ain't gonna knock this dude over a successful first start.
As far as the humidity man, you're going to want to pay attention with the bulb that close if you were already having a hard time. As far as FAE, fanning now and then will be enough. It doesn't have to be constant. You just need to 'clear it out' frequently enough. Too much and you'll be in a cycle of trying to maintain the humidity.
The first one's always the hardest but you're off to a good start. My first I fucked royally. Now monotubs are like brushing my teeth; I don't even need to think about it. If you find success with this grow then I suggest a mono in the future - IF it is an option.
Aside from being easier to maintain, it'll help keep out those gnats.
Good luck!

Did you dunk the cake in water for 24 hours after removing it from the jar?
We are all knocking your fruiting chamber but I see no reason it shouldn't work...
