I received this from another member (wrath), pretty sure he called it an ant plant. I've messaged him and am waiting for a response but figured you guys might be able to give me a hand. Is this an ant plant and if it is does anyone have species name? The main stem is kind of crazy with the bulbous shape and the "fur" where the leaves come out, but the lower part of the stem is pretty skinny.

Maybe so. I know mine is a very immature specimen, so it's probably confusing me. Below the bulbous spot where all the leaves are coming out is thin, like a pencil, all the way down. Also the veins on the leaves are very prominent, most of the pictures I've seen the veins aren't so pronounced. I also haven't seen a pic of myromecodia that has red stemmed leaves.

the furry part looks pretty golden, maybe you have a Myrmecodia aureospina

Hmm well the red light makes sense, it's under and HPS right now. I'm waiting on an MH bulb now, but Wrath got back to me. It's Euphorbia leuconeura aka Madagascar Jewel, reckon there was some miscommunication in the packing slip lol.

Mine are doing better under vegetative LED wavelengths than a number of other plants (screwed up on that one)... I really like them, cute plants and funny how they shoot away the seeds.
Cool to see how they will be grown up!
And yes, that stem is crazy.. Many euphorbiae are apparently by the way. I really like weirdo's like that and especially caudiciforms.
