Poll
    #23970623 - 12/31/16 12:18 PM (7 years, 30 days ago)

This is a very simple question.
If someone you love most on this earth is on their deathbed and asked you to not call ambulance etc. Could you respect their last wish?
You may choose only one

Hospitals and nursing homes ask the same question, have you sign something expressing your decision and respect the person's decision. If someone is on hospice and doesn't want to be recovered, they aren't.

So yes, respect their last wish.

It's their choice. Someone that wouldn't honor it is a truly disrespectful person

this is a tough question.  I feel like this is a situational type thing.  For example, if my buddy was overdosing but didn't want me to get him help because he was afraid of getting busted/ect. In that instance I might call the ambulance against his wishes. If it was my senile old grandmother, then I wouldn't.  I wish you the best

Circumstances are pretty importAnt here, but if I cared about them I would certainly do everything I could to help them

Regardless of their shame guilt or pride. Whatever their diversion is I would do my best

Circumstances are these:

1. This person is top 3 on the planet if you had to have a rating system.

2. Person is dying (does not matter how)

3. Their last wish is for you to let them die without doing anything to help.

Could you follow that instruction?

I used to believe in respecting someone's wish to end their own life from my own experience but now that experience has evolved to an understanding that life can change. I feel that anyone of any age can get out of that mindset and suicidal idealizations. I don't believe that government, federal or state, should impose or legislate laws and/or laws that can/will "help" those who want to end their li(ves)fe. I feel it should be left to personal relationships in a personal manner in their lives. It's hard I know but there should be intervention at the very least. Perhaps a divine intervention that had been made clear under the influence of love and/or LSD. If that person still wants to die under the influence of logic and love then I say let it happen,

It's still hard because the people involved are still liable. It's just hard. I feel it should be a family/friend matter and completely outside of the federal and state government until it comes to the paperwork.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Psalm 12:6
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Hebrews 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Revelation 3:11
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

There are more circumstances where Id leave someone for dead despite their pleas, than there are circumstances where I would drag someone to a hospital against their will

The wounds would have to be treatable with a great deal of certainty, with the person delirious enough for me to discount their acceptance of death. So maybe something like dragging someone with a broken leg and fever off a mountain, or the drug situation mentioned above. Those kind of situations are pretty far and between.

For the most part, if someone doesnt want to go I wouldnt force the issue.

There are good reasons for the state to be involved, otherwise it makes murdering someone by confining them from medical treatment very easy. Our justice system is fucked though, we need to reform it from top to bottom, laws on paper and procedures in action, accountability and qualifications.

Hate to spout the usual rhetoric but the justice system wont be fixed until we end the war on drugs. Its a breech of mankinds fundamental right to possess their body and has since its inception been a massive failure and persisting injustice. You talk about building the system from scratch, thats a big one right off the bat that needs tackled.

This limited possesion of your own flesh is only taken further when you deny someone the choice to end their life.

In my eyes prohibition is public enemy number one in the west, it gluts the prison and welfare systems, spreads violence and fear, interferes with medical practices, gluts healthcare costs, feeds corruption, and more. Millions are persecuted without cause, there is no justice while the war on drugs rolls on.

If they're definitely dying then yes, of course. If there's a strong chance that their life could be saved, I'd be incredibly pissed off at them for asking me not to try and save their life. Most likely, I would still try and save their life, even if it meant accepting their hatred of me from then on out.
