Ronda Rousey. My how the mighty have fallen.

Remember how invincible (seemingly anyway) she was?
Then this happened

Well her comeback fight was tonight. Just saw the video on facebook. She got freaking wrecked. Didn't even last a full minute (fight lasted 48 seconds officially). That Nunes chick landed every shot that she threw -- and she was throwing some haymakers, son.
I'm not a fan of the UFC, don't follow it (I'm a boxing guy myself), so to those who do: Is she done? That once invincible aura of hers is completely and utterly gone. In fact I read that she left the octagon weeping in her mother's arms (didn't see this personally, maybe someone who did can confirm). I mean wow, just wow.
How to you go from being quite possibly the biggest face & name in combat sports to being probably beaten into retirement...just 2 fights later??
Shit is cray as fuck bro

Idk man, but it's such a turn off to watch those dykey chicks all fired up and snarling at each other like a couple pit bull bitches in heat
Fighters have a shorter lifespan than other athletes, doesn't mean she wasn't good at fighting in her prime

I could see that ending someones career, athletes can be sore losers
Shes still a competent fighter, it doesnt matter what someone thinks if she breaks their jaw in the ring, so its up to her It would be foolish for an opponent to underestimate her just because she lost a few matches, there is no top of the pyramid

I'm not saying that she wasn't, but dude, that's really got to be one of the biggest and fastest falls from grace in the history of...maybe sports. Seriously. She was huge. She was a crossover mainstream star, and that shit is damn near impossible to do for any woman (no sexist tho) in any sport. But she did it...and two fights later she has completely fallen off a cliff.
That said though, her checking account still won. 3 million for 48 seconds of getting decked with power shots to the mouth...that's a pretty good trade off, lol.

No video..?
N/m, I found it. That was kind of one sided wasn't it. She stayed on her feet though.. After that kick to the face incident I hear she was kind of in a bad place, so I was hoping she'd come back on a positive note. I guess that didn't happen. That's a bit of a shame.
Hey, Shamrock got stuck quicker than that on live tv ..nobody's invincible.
I'd be pissed if I paid to watch that..

You think she'll call it a day or take one more wack at climbing up the ladder?

She needs to spend some time in an actual boxing gym, and learn how to employ some actual head movement and defense. This is two fights in a row where her opponents just used her face for target practice.
It's tough for me to criticize a fighter of any kind, be it boxing or MMA, because I know any one of them would whoop my ass...but I don't think it takes a mastermind to understand that using your face as a shield for defense strategy is probably not going to work out real well.

That's a tough one, with such little real success vs. her popularity and old flawless record haunting her she has a unique pressure to prove herself just a little bit. So either A) she tries to make a bigger hyped comeback and ride on that winning streak(unlikely imo) B) has a few strings pulled so she's fighting someone who has a worse record then she does for a retirement fight or C) Quits right now. I'm leaning twords the last two because she went on t.v. after she got her face beat in and told Ellen D. how traumatic that was and how she wanted to focus on being a mom.
Note: I actually train in boxing and we use her often on what not to do in boxing. She has an awful guard, slow return ,relies on submission a lot etc. There's some weird circumstances with her trainer and coach with some expensive contracts.

I think she should call it a career. She's already banked a lot of fucking money. And now that she has been obliterated twice in a row, that once great luster she had on her career is all but gone. I mean any bit left of it she had after the first KO went down the drain with this one.
She's fallen waaaayyyy down the ladder, and those once big paydays are going to now be a fraction of what they once were. As a hardcore boxing fan -- one thing I've learned in the fight game is that fans will empty your bandwagon just as quickly as they got onto it. When you're not winning anymore, you quickly (arguably faster than any other sport out there) turn into yesterday's news, and then the fans latch on to the next big thing.
And she ain't the big thing anymore.
Plus, dude, her confidence is in tatters. It's like guys in boxing who start out their career 20-0 and feel unbeatable, and certainly feel like that there's nobody in the world who can knock them out...until they get knocked out. Then all of a sudden for the rest of their career every big shot sends them to the canvas. It stays in the back of your mind. All it takes is getting wrecked one time and then you know it can be done again, and no matter what you do, you can't erase that from your mind.

It couldn't hurt.. I will say though based off body language alone I don't think she had her mind right. I think she thought herself into a corner and 'froze the kicker' as they say. I don't think it's a good example of what she's capable of if she had her mind in the right place.. there's still some kick ass in there so long as she doesn't get sad and give up. She just got fucked up is all, I don't think she threw a single punch and her feet looked nailed to the ground.. and then she got rocked and that was that..
