Just getting started here on the forums. I am a long time fungus enthusiast. Recently decided to grow some fungus again, and saw that this forum has a lot of great info. Feel free to message me with any technical/science questions!
Cheers,
Brewtus

I also do the homebrew. This 10 gallon pot with false bottom wasn't cheap.. But it works well to sterilize my jars!

Noc'd my jars this morning... Now the waiting begins!
Been a while since I last cultivated (15 years I think) and a bit has changed since then. The biggest difference from when I last grew is fruiting chamber design. Seems from what I read people prefer SGFC, which is probably what I will use. Poor Man's Pod seems interesting, and the parts would be cheap/easy for me to get. Any suggestions between the two?
And thank you for the warm welcome!

SGFC is the standard for cakes, it works very well.
Trays can go inside a SGFC as well, but have to elevate above the perlite.

Was thinking about giving trays a try.. But I am not looking for a big yield, as I only need a lil for myself. I might make a print and give it a try subsequently if I don't get the amount I'm hoping for (3-5 g dry per cake).
Decided on the SGFC (thx for the advice!). Afraid I might drill too many holes in it but I guess that is the point to help FAE right?
Happy New Years!

Brr it is cold today! 17F - phew!!!
Keepin' my precious at 75F tho.
I see growth on 5 jars so far @ about 1 week in. Scared that I don't see growth in the other 5. I know, I know... Patience is key...
If I don't see growth in the other ones I may end up doing a tray or 2. Looks like coco coir is the way to go?
Anyways.... Time to wait this bish out, while I will warm up with some Booker's bourbon (vanilla, and oak - ohhh my!)
CHEERS!
