Well nightmares are fun, aren't they? Just had the worst nightmare and woke up paralysed and hallucinating with sleep paralysis. Thanks brain! And I have a horrible fever just in time for New Year's.

I enjoy the occasional nightmare. I feel it's like that occasional horror movie.

I remember opening my eyes, instantly wanted to scream from the nightmare but couldn't. Then the walls turned into spiders so I closed my eyes again. Felt a strong presence, like a beast approaching my crotch and pretty sure it wanted to bite. I've never wiggled all my muscles in my body that hard. It isn't about what you see, ime, it's about the feeling you get. That dread. Holy fuck.

Yeah man sleep paralysis is one of those things that makes you question the very fabric of your existential frame of reference. Can't move, I'm caught in the limbo of terror and I'm slowly drifting upwards and out of my body... and all for free too!
Nightmares are a blast. They're the venting of our deepest pressures and stresses as a sentient being. I mean where else do you get to watch demon monkeys pulverize grandmas into pulp, run away from slobbering zombies and battle undercover CIA agents trying to take your friends away?
Just try to enjoy them and they turn into, as patlal said, dream versions of horror movies!

I wish my nightmares were that elaborate, that sounds really dope. Usually it's a non-lucid dream state that resembles my real world, but something looks off about it. As soon as I find that thing, a monster will appear, visible or invisible, and snap at me. (Tonight the "monster" was myself in underwear running at me and jumping) Then I wake up in a state of terror. I get these like once a month. It bothers me that my nightmares are so lame, considering my normal dreams lucid or not are fucking awesome.

The worst is when you dream about hooking up with someone and in your dream it's like real love and happiness and then you wake up alone just like

Hmm, yeah that doesn't sound exactly like typical nightmares, IME. That sounds more like a recurring dream, which just so happens to be terrifying. I think you should explore that one more, and try to think really deeply about the implications of it and see if there is anything which you are not looking at within yourself, like an internal blind spot.
thx for sharing though, it doesn't sound too bad, honestly. A good adrenaline rush can keep ya reg'lar.

No, it's different every time. The only thing is that there is always something that's wrong or off that I have to find. It can be pretty much anywhere and the monster could be anything. Honestly, a thing doesn't have to sound bad to be bad. It's all about how it makes you feel, not what it actually looks like.
I don't really dwell on it, it's just dreams.

The last nightmare I remember was pretty crazy. Started off with me wakin up and goin into the kitchen to make some coffee and nobody was home. I turned on the TV to watch some news and it was just a live camera with nobody in front of it, no people in the background and no sounds. Walked outside and the sky had a shade of red to it and it was casting down on everything else. Got this feeling that I was being watched so I went back inside and heard something on the ceiling, then felt a hot breath on my neck and heard a quiet laugh and I turned around and there was some bloody, rotten looking corpse thing whose body looked like it had little hands and feet trying to kick through its skin from the inside, and its face was just tons of human faces constantly shifting from one person to another really fast with expressions of horror on them. Then it lunged at mine and that was the end of it

I wonder why nightmares almost always end like that. Something lunging at you and you're suddenly awake.

Wow man, that's a truly horrifying dream, but strewn with great symbolism and, if it had been a short story or a novel, you could even say societal commentary.

I have nightmares every night of my life. Ironically my sleeping medication causes it. I've had horrible nightmares every night for something like 5 years. It's always really bad,I never get used to it.

Yeah it was pretty intense. Real strong sense of dread throughout the whole thing. No idea what to make of it.

Idk, it's like your brain just doesn't want you to see the aftermath of dying or something, cuz I recently had a dream where I got shot in the head during a robbery and all I experienced was a sharp pain for a second and lost control of my body and started fading out then I woke up. But I kinda wanted to see what happened next though, since it was like all those people that thing consumed were still alive inside of it or something.

I've found that the state of sleep paralysis allows you to move out and away from the physical body, so you may well have that to look forward to.

Yeah sleep paralysis scared the shit outta me the first time I had it since I didn't know what the hell was going on. After I learned more about it I started bein able to turn it into a pretty bad ass experience.

Believe it or not nightmares are not always scary . They are always terrible and at the very least uncomfortable though.

My nightmares consist of slowing spinning out of control driving or slowly flipping over an embankment... Nothing seen just loss of equilibrium and waiting for impact... Only once, when I was a kid, did I have sleep paralysis... (SCARY SHIT)

Nightmares suck. Sleep paralysis, on the other hand, is a gift in disguise. At first it sucked, and I would have audio hallicunations of demons and shit. I've never got my eyes to open or been fully lucid during sleep paralysis, but I've trained myself to leave my body pretty much as soon as I realize I'm having sleep paralysis. Easy lucid dreaming
Only hard part is forming images. I seem to go "black" a lot during lucid dreaming, and have trouble forming new landscapes while trying to fly.
Thats why I prefer "realizing" im dreaming during a dream rather than having SP and inducing lucid dreaming. Its much easier to explore when I'm already dreaming because my mind has already created a landscape for me to explore.
I'm having trouble breaking the laws of physics in lucid dreams. I got the flying down, but I'd love to be able to teleport, form new places, objects, etc

I had the most disgusting nightmare this mourning
I was out somewhere out at night like a night club and there were two people sitting in a hammock, one sitting down and one lying down one of them say's her name is gilly, so she says "im rolling" "you've never had sex on extacy?" so i grabbed her hand we then walked around looking for places to have sex but there was always people around I was like walking around a basement with small white halls and random people everywhere I would move some stuff to make room with a nice soft lay out but then people would show up so she brings me to a refridgerator thats empty and not running we go inside and she's laid out in front of me I take off her black shirt but only the midsection is removed and I see her insides but they don't look like insides there's two large bladders one for a uterus one for a stomach right next to each other and a little purple fetus tucked in them I then look down and I can see my flaccid penis inside her in this red looking tube I say, "I came" and pull out I'm still looking and seeing these gnarly looking tubes go up to her tiny lungs but everything is covered in blood and some of the ends of the tubes look like they're molting skin so they're dry and rotting looking and they're all moving around to her breathe or shaking around. I can't move because I'm inside a fridge mind you so I look into her gut and see these crabs are walking around in her blood but they don't have eyes and they have jaws that are opening up and there's different sizes, but I can't move because I'm backed up against a wall. and then I wake up. "what the fuck..."
