    #23967209 - 12/30/16 02:17 AM (7 years, 1 month ago)

Habitat:
Near coniferous forest. South Georgia, U.S.A.
Pine trees, oak, etc.

Gills:
Attached. Dark.

Stem:
Around 3 1/2 to 4 inches

Cap:
Some are convex and some are campanulate. Brownish in middle and gets lighter toward the edges of cap.

Bruising:
I have not noticed any bruising yet

Other information:
Near pond wear fertilizer from fields gets washed into. Not sure if that makes a difference. I found them about thirty feet from where I found some Amanita Muscaria var Persicina.

Looks like Hypholoma, possibly H. capnoides.

I've looked  up both the  Stroph. and the Hypholoma. The cap is darker than those and is lighter toward the edges not in the middle. Darker when wet.

Oh and these were growing straight from the soil. Not from a stump. They were right near a pine tree and a pine stump was probably ten feet away.

Mushrooms often appear to be growing from soil when they are actually growing from buried wood.
Hypholoma or maybe Leratiomyces, certainly a member of the Strophariaceae family, in any case.

Cap color is often quite variable within a single species & Stropharia and Hypholoma are genera, each consisting of many species.

Thank you for clearing things up. I'm still new to the mushroom game. Even with that being said after researching those suggested genera, the descriptions of most of the species in that genera doesn't match this mushroom. I cannot find a match.
