San Pedro. Beautiful specimen or piece of junk?

Have a look at the photos. So this thing fell down a year ago or so and has just been laying at the base of the group of cactus. I'm extremely thankful however I've never had San Pedro so thick ever ever ever. Without getting technical. I'm thinking a foot long piece is going to be a stupid huge dose. Any thoughts? Approximately 4 feet long 6 inches thick.

Thanks

Six in diameter? That would be large. The Juul's is a thick heavy alkaloid beast as well. Unfortunately size doesn't equate to heavy in alkaloids.

Well hopefully this doesn't turn into a complete sh!t show. Again I've never done this with a chunk this fat. They are always really thin when I have bought in the past. Also the core to meat ratio is pretty incredible, lots of meat. I'll take a whole bunch of pictures while I'm doing my Tek for anyone who cares.

the mescalin content goes up when they fall down and are cut off or dried out, because they try harder to survive and secrete/make more chemicals to ward off pretadors, or at least thats the theory i've heard. that cut looks good, i'd go with the 12 inch cut, mescalin is forgiving, go for it

So just for the sake of conversation and reality. I'm assuming you speak from experience. With the heavy juuls cactus samples that are pretty fat, what is your typical section size?

Ergo... I appreciate your input. And I really like your push that mescaline is forgiving. I generally feel the same way HOWEVER! One time it was definitely not forgiving! And I don't want that to happen again.

Yeah, i've tripped i'd say 4 times on san pedro, the last time of which I drank 12 inches of a piece of tea off of a 20-30 year old san pedro. The times before that I always would take younger ones (1-2 years old) and would take 10 inches of just the outer layer dark skin which i'd dry and put in capsules. \so I think how old the cactus is could be a factor on potency, because the mescalin has more time to develop, younger cacti aren't very potent

was this set and setting induced?

A foot doesnt sound too bad. San pedro cacti is usually pretty mellow and it would take about 3 or so ft to trip hard from it.. 1 foot is usually my go to dose..

Hahaha I think you are underestimating this particular piece. Usually I feel like it won't be enough. But this is some old dense hearty hefty weird sh!T and to be honest I'm only asking because truthfully this piece scares me a little.

OK so soup is on. There's no better cure for what ails you! I'm using a 24 quart pot. 4 gallons of cubed chunks and enough water to just cover the chunks. Also a bunch of lemons and oranges because why the hell not people!

I usually blend the cactus up before boiling, feel like it gets out all the alkaloids better. Looks like a good prep tho! I feel that a foot of that will have you loaded. Happy tripping

Preperation looks good so far!
You have 4 feet of thick SanPedro, I guess that's more than enough for two trips.
I would boil all down to a few cups of liquid and then seperate into three or four equal parts. This way you can start with one and check the overall potency. If one is too weak you can take more, like 2, or one and a half, next time.
Put the concentrated liquids in the freezer, it will keep potent for ages.

I'm curious to see how much stress affected potency. That is a massive, beat up cactus.
Happy travels op!

I was exhausted last night and I was lazy so I just got it hot and let it simmer all night. This morning I scooped it all into the blender and ground it all up around 7am. Then headed off to work. Just got home and I'm about to strain off the first brew, then I will do a second at a higher heat but not a burning boil. Then I'll process it all together and boil down to a manageable quantity. Split it into 4 doses and see what I see... I won't give a trip report because I hate explaining the weird sh!T my mind conjures up. But I'll give a heads up to potency, discomfort etc.

Second batch stewing nicely. Here are some photos. I'll organize up the photos and call this a Tek as if I'm the first human to ever boil a cactus.

Hopefully it won't be too nasty to choke down.
Hopefully these aren't completely inactive specimen.
Hopefully I didn't somehow f9ck up the whole batch.
Don't get envious just yet. We have all had a good time blow up in our faces!
