My systolic blood pressure is above 150.... This is a thread about tea. Yes. Tea

As of the last 5 days, I've noticed that my ears are pounding with every heart beat. So I've been going to the pharmacy to get my pressure tested. Constant 150.... WTF right?
I talked to the pharmacist and she asked me what change in my nutrion lately. I couldn't come up with anything... Until I realized that I bought my self a teapot on boxing day and that I've been drinking lots of green tea lately... So she immediately tells me it's the caffeine that's raising the pressure and making my ear throb...Like a moron I said "there's caffeine in green tea???". Of course there is.
She said that Lipton has a decaffeinated green tea. I don't like Lipton tea.
What tea do you drink and is there caffeine in it???

Is that a morning BP or later in the day? Morning BP is 10-20 mm higher than the rest of the day. What's the diastolic?
Regardless 150 is high. Higher than I've ever measured and I'm 47. You need to take advantage of your free healthcare because you're barely 30 and two or three decades of moderate high blood pressure like 150/100 is gonna trash your organs

Some folks say Apple Cider Vinegar will help lower blood pressure. Get an organic varietal with the "mother".
If you are taking any stimulants other than caffeine you can be impacted too.
You can go much higher than 150 (it's not healthy), but you risk busting holes in your blood vessels

DIastolic is fine.
I do not have a history of blood pressure problem and it's only been lie this for the last 4 days which coincides directly with my tea consumption... I was unknowingly consuming tons of caffeine without realizing it.

It's fine? What is it? It would've very unusual to have a BP of 150/80

That would be hilarious if Patlal died of a preventable illness because he's such a capitalist wannabe that he never took advantage of his socialist healthcare.

what is your salt intake like normally? compared to the holiday season?
my older neighbor and friend fucked up bad the nite before he went in for his blood pressure test; the salt container dumped on his food, and instead of trashing the whole meal, he tried to scrape/rinse it off. his BP was something like 240/80, and the doctor flipped out until he explained what happened. he went in a week later and had a relatively normal reading.
my own numbers are generally consistent around 100/70, sometimes lower on systolic. and the last time i tested, i had drank a typical amount of caffeinated coffee

My favourite tea is jiaogulan tea - it's a green herbal tea from China, no caffeine, and lots of associated health benefits (including regulating blood pressure). My second favourite is chamomile tea - I don't like caffeine at all so I avoid it

I'm lowering my salt intake definitely for a few days. This shit is starting to worry me.
Given the fact that I'm hypocondriac and that Koods just threw in dying in his brilliant post, I'm now anxious, which does now help blood pressure.

Eat rolled oats by the bowl full regularly.
http://www.businessinsider.com.au/things-you-need-to-eat-to-lower-your-blood-pressure-and-things-to-avoid-2016-10
I drink coffee and black tea almost every day and eat oats almost every day.
Don't forget bananas too, and sunflower seeds.
I eat frozen pizzas and general nutritional black holefoods too but I eat those three almost every day.

I drink tetley tea usually. Every morning I have a cup and throw in 3 tea bags if it's black, 4 if it's green.
I'm not drinking decaf. I would just drink water if that was my end goal.

Three tea bags per cup?
And if it's not too invasive, may I ask how long you leave them sit in the cup?
Again, not wanting to probe too much into your tea drinking habits, but do you squeeze the tea bags with your spoon against the cup before removal to get those last lovely tea drops out of the bag?

Shoot, that's just the morning though. I make pitchers of iced tea pretty strong too for the rest of the day.
I switched to tea a while ago, whereas before I'd just drink soda and energy drinks. I don't add sugar to tea, so it's a lot better.

Yeah I notice my blood pressure gets really high when I have too much caffiene. Usually its the paramount effect of stress, lack of sleep, too much caffeine, and too many cigarettes.
Valarein root, in small doses, will temporarily lower my bp.
I recommend finding yourself a good herbal tea. Exercise and limit process carbs, eat many vegetables.

I'm madly addicted to coffee. Switching to decaf and getting enough sleep, meditating regularly, and smoking no more than 1-2 cigs a day helped a ton.
Ironically it was when I tried to quit smoking completely that I got back into the bad cycle of being overly stressed, drinking too much caffeine and smoking too many cigarettes. Ugh.

Idk, I've read a lot of food tests that have been done, there has been measurable ochratoxin found in common cerals such a cherio's, lots in raisins, dried fruit, oats too. Aflatoxins in peanuts. It's the lack of post harvest regulation causing most of it. I know that we are all exposed to these toxins but it's the susceptible people who are most affected.

That's odd, there isn't very much caffeine in green tea. Certainly not enough to make somebody's blood pressure rise that high. It only has a fraction of the tea in black tea, chai tea, and other highly caffeinated teas.
Switch to herbal teas from now on just in case.
