http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// Hello to everyone. I've made four jars with brown rice and vermiculite. This is my second time of doing this. But i havent do it for 4 years. Recently i moved to a new place and decided to try it again. But i dont have any tools. So i've bought brown rice and tried to grind as much as possible but its not enough for sure, also i got a smaller vermiculite wich i've never tried before. Also i've boiled the jars in a regular pot for 2hours and 30min. And i did not put foil between the lid and the jar but i've put strong tape. As u can see the pictures can u tell me should i even expect any growth at all? Also i forgot to tell u that i inoculated them so i am just waiting now. Thank u really

did you layer dry verm on top? If so you need to take that tape off the top of your jars

You may be new to the hobby, but I highly recommend jumping straight to bulk.
IME working with pf cakes and maintaining them in a SGFC proves to be more bothersome and leads to less than satisfactory results if not done perfectly.
However, creating a few monotubs will spit out wayyy more mushrooms than you could every get from a few cakes in a SGFC (assuming they don't contaminate first), with less than half the maintenance required.
If you can create the best conditions possible inside your monotub via polyfill and some light misting of the surface, you can have a harvest that you'll be very proud of
Read up on some of Frank's teks and also look into making pasty plates first.
-You have to make the pasty plates to get clean mycelium, then transfer a piece from the outside of the mycelial growth with a scalpel to another plate, repeat 2x. (as shown in the videos). -Take another outside piece and place it into a sterilized grain jar while working in a still air box, or SAB (as described in the teks) -Let the jar colonize to about 30%, then shake it up. Let it recolonize completely to 100%.
Once you have clean spawn, you are ready to move onto making your monos!

Thanks guys! I've took out the tape from the top of the jars. And i'm starting to read the about the new technique that psilosoulful mentioned. Do u think that there is still chance of spreading in the jars?
