This is delightful news, I plan on taking care of this spot after work on an absolute fluke I ended up walking around the other corner of where I was getting my car worked on and they were staring up at me. Any useful links would be greatly appreciated, I will look up info as I get home as well. Thanks everyone again for the IDs. I appreciate the help!

Looks like you found a spot someone tried to burry??? Just watch out bro! Looks like soil was thrown ontop a pile of em and your finding shit plus broken bits on outskirts. Nice find! Snag some stem butt myspcelium n gro em at home instead of waiting + hoping. A healthy butt jar will last you a lifetime Happy hunting.

what exactly should be done with stem butts? blend them with some water and make a slurry?

I thought the same thing about the soil so i decided to get my hand really dirty in hopes of finding burried treasure and was left with a dirty hand and no treasure haha. I did some research on stem butting and definitely seems like a viable option and will do it tomorrow or tonight, my landlord is pretty cool. I wanted to know if i eat like 2 of the stems will i be able to go to work tomorrow? haha serious question.

Okay so I ended up saving for the weekend. Despite saying many times that as soon as i found them I would try them :P. I also went back to the area and gathered some of the mycelium intact with wood-chip and a more decayed patch. I prepared cardboard and got a container going layering with woodchip pieces with the mycelium as well as some of the left over pieces. Is leaving intact pieces an issue or is that okay? I also wanted to know if i should leave this outside or bring it in. I read information from http://www.mushroom-appreciation.com/mushroom-spawn-cardboard.html but i didnt see a reference for temperature that the spawn should be kept at. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I took a revisit to the spot to take a looksie. I like what i found. How long should it take pins of this size to reach maturity? My stembutt bucket is looking nice as well. I also purchased some alder chips for when the stembutt bucket is ready . No issues with throwing a few alder chips inside the stem butt bucket right? i just am thinking they might like it.

Looks like some young Psilocybe Cyanescens
They will take a couple days to mature depending on the amount of rain fall and the temperature outside, and yes the stem butts would love the alder chips
Good job dude keep it up!
