those Doc_T "plates" go by the name of "no-pours" Thats where i started and have had great success with them... really easy to work with.
I liked using the wide mouth smaller flat jelly jars personally.
Have you decided on a recipe for your agar yet?
My recommendation is to simmer the agar mixture for a bit to homogenize everything prior to pouring the agar mix into the jars.
If you don't have shrooms going right meow to clone from and are using spore solution, I recommend only using a few drops of solution.
The advantage of Agar as you probably know is the ability to identify con tams early and to isolate away from them to other Agar dishes.
Use a Still Air Box or SAB to do your agar work.. and always practice impeccable sterile technique.
The pic on my sig is a no-pour.

both have pros and cons. you can't do a tiger drop with glass. glass has better visibility. plastic lids pop off with one finger. jar lids have to be unscrewed and lifted off....

Honestly I don't know how tiger dropping became a thing, we don't like the mycelium to cover the entire plate for bacterial reasons so we colonize 75% of the surface and cut the myc out the center. But it's okay to drop the entire agar puck into a jar

Yeah I thought the same thing. I always cut my colonized agar out because I'm paranoid there is bacteria or something near the edge, and the edge is the part that contams on me most of the time (but rarely get contams anyway)

who is this we you speak of? I mean I haven't seen many people preaching that practice. and what, exactly, are your "bacterial reasons?"

Oh shit. I just realized. Instead of tiger dropping I can use your LI method with those glass jars.

I guess its just outdated info then. if there was any actual concerns, then tiger dropping and blenderless LI wouldn't work. yet, they do. proof is in the pudding.

My understanding was that a plate grown all the way to the edge has a higher chance of getting contaminated when handled improperly, but that correct sterile procedure should vastly reduce the likelihood to near non-existence.

why would you take myc from the center?

No, cut all the myc out but just not letting the myc grow out till it touches the glass
