I think the similarities end at being colonized by the British.
What the hell do I know, though? I'm from neither place and have only gotten to know the Eastern Provinces of Canada.

Yes, much more similar if you were to compare the US to either nation.
My extent of OZ knowledge is limited at best, and based off of a bogan ass girl I shortly dated from Adeleide some years ago.
My knowledge of Canada, although a slight bit more than OZ leads me back to Niagra Falls and that handsome leader you mentioned.

As a surfer, well, former for now, the East coast has always beckoned me. Now, the Southern Coast is something I don't quite understand. "It's funky" is what comes to mind. Again, I have absolutely no experience of living in your wonderful jazz flute playing land (Rest in peace, flutist from Men At Work). I'm generalizing based on preconcieved notions. But that sometumes makes for interesting, albeit silly conversations.
I digress.

I know a little about a lot and a lot about a little.
She has the same name as the best QB the Colts have had in the past two decades, whom recently retired with the Denver Broncos.
I have no Aussie Rules Football references to make the context more understandable, sorry.

I've flown over Australia from New Zealand on my way to Bangkok. Can confirm it is definitely real, and is also a massive empty hot desert.

East coast is for pansies and lid riders. Southcoast is where the men are and the west coast is for the crazies.

I thought I was in Canada a few times. They even had these customs agents that asked me questions on the way in. I later found out it was just extreme northern America. People masquerading with silly garb and accents everywhere... We Americans sure like to drink and play jokes on people.
you were at the canadaland theme park, it's like stepping back in time to the 1970s on the south or Wisconsin today. which is actually where the rides for canadaland are located

Thank you for entertaining my factual meanderings, Pris.
We all here know that the metric system is simply a unit of measurement for drug addicts. The math part of the brain simply shuts down after prolonged use of ANY drug. Thus, reverting our minds to a rather Neandertholic series of measurements and numbers.
California, is it shifting North gradually? I could've sworn the tectonic plates along the ridge were moving ENE (which would make it the pole at one point in geologic future). I remember in the 90's quite a few "acclaimed" scientists talking about how Cali would one day detach and essentially float out to sea. Shills...
Regardless, many new mountains will be formed, deserts rehydrated into forests, vice versa scenario, etc.
This is all still educated speculation as of right now, but what's not is that Florida along with the rest of the East Coast is sinking. Slowly as of now, but an exponential rate nonetheless.
The last 4 years during "supermoons" and "king tides" have become progressivly worse. Nowadays every event like the ones I mentioned above bring in 1-3 inches of water over all South Florida landmass ~3-5 miles inland twice a day.
