How does this colonized substrate look to you?

I've got a couple mini projects to test out two separate MS runs. I did a G2G with these and made mini projects of each to see what I'm working with. These both seemed very healthy and colonized quickly.
This picture is day 7 of colonizing your typical CVG substrate. Honestly, this is the first time I've seen mycelium act like this. It appears very rhizomorphic. You can see where the "webs" have reached the surface and extended out of the substrate.
I assume this is some what normal? It looks healthy to me. What do you think?

Hard to tell looks like mini bobbs. My eyes also see a green/gray tent to it.

I need to get myself a good camera. It is difficult to show proper pictures of what I am actually seeing. The "bobbs" that you are seeing aren't primordia yet at all. I don't usually see those until a handful of days into fruiting.
What I am seeing is the mycelium reaching out. Looking on the sides of the tub I can see the rhizomorphic mycelium is branching out. Once it hits the surface it is starting to climb up the tub wall as well.
I'll attempt a few more pictures with better lighting. I do not see any green coloring at all.

Either way it looks kinda neat. Check out this Mycelium "tree".

I'll keep this updated on progress to see what happens.

Good ol' bacterial blobs.
Curious to see what kinda yield you will get.

That's how mycelium reacts when contams are present, possibly bacteria.
But you're fine you might still get a good flush.

Hmm, strange. Normally when I deal with bacteria it gets kinda slimy looking and the mycelium looks more dense. In most cases I would also see a bunch of the yellow metabolites.
I assume it was present in the spawn most likely? I'm confident I pasteurized the sub correctly. I've been getting really strict about everything due to so many issues in my past.
At least the other mini project looks normal! You all can look forward to another Pumpkin Candy Dish!

@op mycelium has many different reactions to bacteria. There's myc fingers, excessive metabolites, thick very white cottage cheese growths (like your sub), etc.
Yeah it was present in your spawn
The pumpkin one at least looks cleaner than the tub lol

I was going to post last night but I managed to get sick and got to deal with vomiting/shitz all night. What a lovely holiday gift right? I think I'll survive. I am able to hold down fluids now...
Here is an update on both that questionable mini tub and the candy dish. Both are looking pretty decent for only like a half QT of spawn.

I finally have something to attempt to clone! See anything you would choose as a good specimen?

Finally, some form of success this year. Maybe this will be a good step into the new year. I'm happy I'll be able to share with friends this NYE.

How big was your tub? I'm interested to see what your wet/dry weights are.

I won't have any wet weights for you. Since they are all in the dehydrator as we speak. But as soon as they are finished I'll be sure to give you an update.
Honestly, I used what was left of two separate G2G from a single Master Jar each. So both had a little less than a half a QT left of spawn. These were my test runs for two varieties of cubes.
The tub I used is a 12QT. I was going to do a "dubtub" of some sort but got lazy so I just threw it in my SGFC. I knew the fruits would be small on this tub due to the substrate being maybe 2". Not disappointed though! I actually like smaller fruits sometimes.
The candydish actually works really well by itself. Creates a good amount of FAE but adding some hydration often is needed. I've experimented with the dish in the past and learned it can dry up fast.
The other good news is the G2G jars are looking good!
Obviously, the questionable tub G2G will likely have the same bacterial issue. So I'm going to just spawn it all into a monotub and hope for the best.
