I have some LC left over and want to make some PP5 bottle tek style tubs.

What substrate have you had the most success for fruiting Chicon Nindo Mexicana.  I want to get some fruits so I can trade and give away.

Ingredients available,  BRF, straw, RGS, DF, CGV,

I fruited Psi. mexicana Jalisco straight from grain with a PH adjusted flower soil casing layer.

I am pretty sure Muda's Straw based bottles will give you good results. The casing layer is important with this species IME.

I have not finished writing my casing tek... Sorry.
You can use this TEK for your casing material.

I check the PH of the casing to be sure that the casing PH is about 7.5 - 8.0.

Jiffy mix is not available where I live so I have no experience with it.

How do you check the ph level?  I have litmus paper.

Working with litmus paper is a PITA but it works. I have a pH meter.

The TEK I posted shows you how to work with jiffy mix without checking the PH. The Galindoi grow in the linked thread looks good. Psi. mexicana grows very similar to Psi. galindoi.

:goodluck:

I did not know that you live in the UK. You could try to buy pot flower soil and check the pH. The problem is that mold likes a low pH and germinates easy on low pH peat/soil. Psi. mexicana would grow on unadjusted pasteurized pot flower soil but the risk of a contamination is higher.
