In all seriousness I think letting the vet euthanize your dog is probably the best bet. Ive heard horror stories of people shooting their dog and it not dying ect.
While I stand by what I said about Tannerite being the fastest and least painful (and coolest) way to die, The vet is probably the most humane.

Drowning would be an absolutely horrible way to die please dont do that..
Have your vet euthanize him or if thats too expensive have a hunter shoot him with 12ga buckshot. I say have a hunter do it because they are good at knowing how to kill instantly.

Are you urban or something? Dont have a gun?
The only problem with shooting it would be if you miss or are using a caliber that's too small. Dont use a .22 to shoot your dog. I prefer pistols for putting my friends down, you can lay in the grass with them, feed them, show them the love you want them to feel. Then baddabing, baddaboom.
Its what id ask for in their position, I doubt my own death with be so pleasant, painless, or sudden.
I dont like doing it with the vet, I dont want my friend to be afraid, and I think those places reak of it.
Its a hard thing to do.
If youre a city kid, I dont know what to tell you. You could look into lethal amounts on barbiturates and dogs, order it off the dark web, and do it yourself, I watched my wifes cat get euthanized in our home, it was gentle. Could be as easy as mixing the meds into his favorite food and rubbing him while he falls asleep.
Best wishes
Edit. Dont try to drown the dog, it would be more humane to beat it to death with a pipe.
...dont beat your dog to death with a pipe.

Are you serious?
Either go to a vet or do what was mentioned and take him out and lay with him for awhile and then slip a blanket over his head and shoot him with a pistol. .357/.44 size. Even that's inhumane and traumatic and I doubt you know how to use a gun or the anatomy of a dogs head very well.
Fucking drown him? That's like some troll shit right there. Get a vet to do it. Bullets hurt.

Don't drown your dog man. That's beyond fucked.
If your dog is truly suffering, it shouldn't cost more than $200 to have a vet euthanize him humanely, and it's usually less.

I doubt the OP is trying to be a douche, its common knowledge that drowning is a relatively painless death, im sure in his obvious youthful ignorance he imagines it would be easy or something. You may be reading to much into his words, OP is just lost from my perspective.
I think hes imagining it would be simple, like applying pressure with your foot to the chest of a small animal thats dying, cuts out their breathing and heart. Probably terrifying to them, but not that physically painful, and a quick death. Im assuming we all have been choked unconscious a few times, I know I have. Not that bad of a way to go, but panicky for sure.
Actually trying to drown the dog would be unfeasible thou.
And OP, 5 is maybe right in assuming you may not be a candidate for shooting a animal, but if you are gun aware, its the easiest way.
I dont believe taking a 357 to the head hurts an animal. Even a 9mm to the base of the brain is more than enough to kill. All animals kick around after death, nerves and everything, dont start dumping the whole clip into it because you think its trying to run, lol.
Shotguns are kind of overkill, but if thats what you have, it will work.
Also, if you are city, depending on the size of the town, there may be animal charity type things that would help with the cost of euthanasia if youre unable to afford it, especially since it sounds like your friend needs help now. Call animal shelters, and even vet offices trying to get information about these things, hopefully you can get some help from something like that. Just toss out your story and see what they say, dont just try one place.
Pleasant vibes

Drink a gallon of vinegar and then drown yourself to see which is the more humane route.

Dig a hole, put a steak in the bottom of it. Help the dog down in there and let it start eating the steak. Shoot it in the head from close range with a rifle or decent caliber pistol. Bury it in the hole.
That's the farmer way at least. Good luck.

A dog is part of the family and should be treated as such.

"Aerial burials" aren't necessarily disrespectful, theyre just practical. Thats a more normal thing than it sounds. Ive buried pets before, but at the same time, everything has to eat, a body might as well go to a purpose.

Ideally when I die my body would be left for carnivores. That won't happen though. Just wasted meat really.

why didn't you have the vet put him down like a rational human being?
the dog was probably like "why the fuck is my loving master choking me to death? my god this is a shitty way to go".

I wanted to be the one to take his life... Its ok... it went on quite smoothly..no struggling and quite peaceful...
I immediately buried him to the nearest grassland I found... I had to dig for maybe an hour, I only have that small gardening shovel...
I marked his grave so I can visit his remains every now and then...

You should of done a sick taxidermy job on it. Then you could see your buddy everyday. He could of been a conversation starting umbrella stand, or maybe a cool wildlife pose with dead a cat in his jaws with a scary big dog boner, you know that gross swollen head they have with that drippy wet looking boner the sex starved ones have.
Or you could have had a fleshlight installed in his butt, so nobody could really judge you for banging a dog, because it's technically not a dog. That's what you should have done.
