How people are introduced to psychedelics.
    #23961664 - 12/28/16 12:20 AM (7 years, 1 month ago)

I think it's super interesting how other people are introduced to the tripping culture.

For me it was through being kind of a bad kid in school and hanging out with the "burnouts" and losers I guess you would say. Smoking tons of weed and doing pain killers and other miscellaneous drugs until one time we did mushrooms and it flipped my word upside down, me and a few close friends broke off and kind of did our own thing and went down this path, the journey I'm still on today.

I dont like the person I was in highschool but if it didn't happen that way I feel like I would have never tried psychedelics, as before that, I was not a spiritual person.

Where I was from was extremely cliquey as I'm sure most schools are but since then I've met so many people from my school who are interested in tripping from all of the groups, I find it interesting when some of the ( I don't like to say "nerdy or geeky" so I'll say smart kids) got into it and are now tripping regularly. I love tripping with really smart people! Especially very well read people. Being intelligent and smart is cool, I wish I would have realized it sooner, but in school I was hellbent on being a rebel and being a "cool kid".

Even some of the self centered and egotistical sports players I knew, who were total tools in school, I've now seen them again recently and they too have been tripping and completely changed and even admit they were douches in school.

I just find it interesting how it finds different people and then we all kind of have this unspoken bond because of it for the most part, although I have met a few trippers who are taking it the complete wrong way and think they are better than everyone who doesn't do it.

So how were you introduced to psychedelics? What was your first experience like and who were you with?

I was introduced by the internet I guess you could say. I got curious about drugs through reading about them on sites like erowid and such. When I had the opportunity to buy mushrooms and I did, and took them by myself.

I suppose I should say I started tripping a lot younger than most aswell, I was 16 when I did my first mushroom trip.

I listened to what the mushroom told me though and I stopped using drugs to get " fucked up" and started trying to better myself and aspects of my life.

How old were you when you first tried it?

I started smoking weed when I was 12 years old I knew where the dealers would hangout. I bought a half oz from this dude in a van when I was 13 and he gave me two 8ths for $50. I decided to eat them and they made me trip really hard I only ate 3.5 grams though. I started doing LSD when I was 15 I got some family acid called white fluff from the same guys. I had tried LSD when I was 14 but it was fake acid I got the real deal latter though. I tried DMT when I was 17 and mescaline when I was 18 I've tripped a few times but  I've only done LSD 7 times but I've done doses around 660 ug it was dope I played the guitar and my friend thought a atomic war was breaking out during the come up I was playing the twilight zone and it said a atomic war was breaking out and my friend thought that was the news so he flipped shit and thought we were all going to die he crawled under the kitchen sink and got stuck I only gave him 440 ug of LSD. He calmed down eventually and he keept showing me Tyler the creators music video this gave me a bad vibe so I put on Wilfred and watched it while peaking. I've done shrooms 13 times I've found them growing naturally in my neighborhood and bought them before as well I like to combine them with an MAOI. I tried 4-aco-DMT with a MAOI recently and it was very different than mushrooms and a MAOI 4-aco-DMT gave me visions like a combination of DMT and LSD but without the sickness feeling of shit acid but that peaking fealing is the same as LSD. I found it to be better than shrooms because shrooms gives me digestive problems on really high doses with 4-aco it felt a lot better. I don't really have much to do so I just trip by myself mostly I taught myself lots of stuff because I just really love to get high. The more I trip the more I love psychedelics they always make me rethink things I find them helpful for doing some rethinking and life changes. I use them to balance my energy I find them pleasant but I got myself into psychedelics because I found them to be mysterious and had very powerful positive energy.

Damn man DMT at 17!

Couldn't even imagine, I just recently got a decent stash of it and have been exploring it's amazing possibilities and it's changing my life! Even more than it already has been.

You've lived quite a life sir, thank you for your story,
Cheers,:mushroom2:

It all started for me when somebody who I don't even remember mentioned "did you know people grow shrooms in jars full of rice?".
It was in the middle of some random conversation, and I was about 13 years old. I have no idea why but it struck me in some weird sort of scientific pornography kind of way.. I thought: "you can grow mushrooms inside a jar!?".

I was then interested in mushrooms, but it all faded away until a year later when I was 14, picking up weed from my weed dealer, I went to use his bathroom and he had a bunch of shrooms drying out on a screen, sitting on the back of his toilet. I just asked him what they were and he told me they were shrooms, picked nearby, and that if I get some more of them, he would buy them all.

He quickly taught me how to identify them "They have a gold/brown center on the cap and always a purple skirt and they bruise blue."

So I went hunting by myself, filled an entire backpack full of them and brought them to his house and traded for what looked like a pound of amazing weed.
I kept a few for myself and shared them with a bunch of my teen friends, we all tripped very mildly, nobody really had a deep psychedelic experience..

I assumed that was it, that's what mushrooms do, and I moved on.

Fast forward 10 years, I'm holding down a 12hr/day job for 5-6 solid years and have discovered that life as an adult is just a form of legal slavery.
With no means to an end, you pay bills until you die, and try to squeeze in an ounce of enjoyment when you can afford it. It all seemed pointless.
Pointless in a way, like the feeling you get when you play a video game and you typed in every single cheat and you're in God mode just running around one-shotting everything and there is no more challenge and the game becomes pointless and you stop playing. I didn't feel like I was in God mode, but I felt like I knew exactly whats going to happen from here on, so why keep living?

Not sure why but I suddenly thought of mushrooms, and I thought to myself "Maybe I just need to stir things up a bit, see some colors, maybe that will make life worth living again."

Couldn't find any mushrooms so I made an account here and learned how to grow them in rice, in jars just like I'd heard at 13.

After a few successful grows and some truly deep psychedelic experiences, it turns out they do stir things up..
Life has been worth living since then.

I guess the moral to my story is take a lot of shrooms.
Eat until you're full.

First thing I did was 24 dramamine at age 15. Did that just because I thought drugs were cewl
Dramamine is not cewl

As I got older I wanted to try psychedelics just because I wanted to see the world through a different mindset.
I love thinking of logical answers to complex questions and tripping was a means to that end.

Its been mainly shrooms but I have tried LSD and mescaline and mesc was definitely the most enlightening.

No one ever really taught me about psychedelics,,

being in a christian high school and catholic university, Id say theres so muuuch void in my heart that finding psychedelics would be inevitable... at first a dabbled with weed then dug deeper...

I remember seeing this documentary film by Bouncing Bear entitled 'Manifesting the Mind: Footprints of the Shaman', and thats my jumpoff point I guess... My very first psychedelic trip was freshly harvested from a loaf pan (yes loaf pan, the one use making meatloaf)... I ate everything fresh from the pan maybe 70grams...

Mushrooms were the first intoxicant I ever ingested.
I was 12, my big brother and our friend were enjoying a bag, when all of a sudden by bro flicks me over a big cap and says something like, "you wanna try a bite?" I did indeed. My curiosity for altered states of consciousness was always high, but something about the mushroom called me. I chomped it down. It was a weird night.

We went to this pizza place that we frequented at the time, and I remember being in the outside area near the parking lot when it hit me. Ever so subtly my perception had been shifting from the moment of ingestion until this exact place in time when my life would be forever changed.

The sun had gone down, it was dark,  and even though it was subtle I was noticeably tripping. Everything was in such crisp HD, and the sounds of the gravel driveway we were sitting next to were being amplified to a ridiculous degree. I could hear all of the creaks and cracks of branches swaying in the wind and leaves dancing in the breeze. I was immersed in my senses in a way I never imagined possible. I became quickly overwhelmed. All I could muster was, "Can I be taken home please?" I spent the rest of the night in deep thought on the couch. It was good.

In many ways that night sparked a fire in me, one that has never gone out since. It made me desire to learn about our beautiful mind, the body that holds it, and the strange universe around me.

I started reading Hesse, and fell in love with philosophy, after some other readings I came across Huxley and discovered he had a book on psychedelics. I was like "wow, this wise man took drugs?" so I had to read it, I'm referring to Moksha by the way, the Doors came later. I kept on reading about this, then started meditating etc. I've always been a good kid so I didn't know how to get psychedelics.
6 years later or so, I got dumped, so I broke free from conditioning and loosen up a lot...so I met the right people . When I tried the truffles, they were everything I dreamt of, and more, so I had to keep it:mushroom2:

I went out looking for it. I wanted to hallucinate, out of curiosity and general interest. I had heard vaguely (only the names really) of LSD, mushrooms, etc. but knew absolutely nothing about any of them. One day, out of sheer coincidence, I ran into an old childhood friend I hadn't seen in years. We got to talking, and eventually he said that he could get mushrooms. I was immensely interested and said yes immediately.

So not all people just randomly wander into it. I went out looking for it and found it.

I never heard of psychedelics until they passed around an anti-drug pamphlet at school in the 8th grade. That pamphlet was like a catalog. It showed pictures of each type of drug, explained what they do, typical street price, dose, and how to take them. When I read about LSD, Mushrooms and mescaline, I was like "where do I get this stuff?".

First time I was offered LSD, I went for it because I already knew what to expect and I really wanted to have those experiences. Thank you government for leading me down the right road!

I was 13 or 14 at the time. There was a HUGE music festival in MN going on at the time. It was called 10K(or 10k lakes music festival) Lots, and lots, and even more drugs. I wish it didnt close down in 2008.

Back on with the story, my sister got a quarter oz of shrooms, we each took about 1.75g. Was a great trip, good way to introduce myself. I tripped about 7 months later when we went camping.

After that it was a couple years before I had my hands on them again, and that was a one time thing. Few years later the psychs are flooding the market and I am reaping the benefits.

I read about them, and then saw a show on LSD on the tv, both of those forms of media made LSD appear interesting.
I had done some other drugs before then, so figured since I enjoyed those other drugs, then why not give LSD a go.  It kind of found me though, a friend was selling it at school and offered me some WoW to try for free, so I tried 2 hits that weekend by myself, loved it, and continued to buy WoW/gel tabs as often as I could.

Most times I tripped in the beginning of my tripping career, I did so alone.

I introduced by the same way. Just a loser in school all day hanging out smoking cigaretes from 12 years old then tried weed then mdma then some strange pills. Those routine changed me my character and my thoughts.

Really interesting it seems that most of you just found it on your own and did it yourselfs.

The experience really does just find you. Thanks floor sharing all.
