I had a very bacterial grain spawn bag on my counter for 4-6 weeks. Cut the top off, threw outside, didn’t water it for a few weeks, planned on composting in my garden. It got hit with a bit of water and this happened shortly after. So amazing how they find a way.

Fungi love direct water, heavy rain is also a trigger.

====
If you have some King oyster's that are fully colonized, but don't seem to want to fruit (even at 16°C), here is a trick I learned. Personally I don't have blotch issues (fungal pathogen), so direct watering and misting is not an issue for me.
KO responds to cold shock, and it also responds to 'cold' heavy rain.
----
I colonized WL-Tek (general) using WBS spawn, once colonized it was put into suitable fruiting conditions for a few weeks. After some time I got bored, and decided to saturate the surface of my cake in 8°C tap water (pH 7.5, CaCO3).
24 hours later there was tiny pins, after 48 hours they matured, some turning into small fruits.

No misting everything aborted, the second flush aborted to higher temps.

You guys think this is a Pleurotus? I posted in the ID forum, but thought people here might have a lot of experience with them to have an idea.

it's growing from a tree stump, cut flush with the ground. Looks like it's growing from the soil
*nice LM Sunny!

Thanks!
Sure looks like oyster to me, but I’m not 100%. They grow around here out of hardwood, not abundant though. Those look pretty chunky.

98% sure those are oysters. I'd want to see the stems/point of attachment to be certain.
My most recent bags of the wild oyster clone.

Those are some very rich KO. Hard to beat outdoors, unless you have an extreme setup (with night cycles).

These things took a long time to take off. Finally got some fast growth. A couple fully colonized in the GH, cased with sterilized compost/soil.

Thanks guys.
The GH suits my needs for now. Eventually, I might frame in the whole bathroom (room inside a room) for a small-ish walk-in greenhouse.
