My wife and I are very excited to try it, we have never even seen it before i started researching growing mushrooms. Do they actually have a lobster taste? I hope so as she is allergic ( recently not her whole life ) to shellfish so I am hoping its a good substitute.

First time growing Lions Mane Should I cut the top off the bag or just cut more slits where it’s pinning?

Cut slits where it's pinning. Nice and easy to harvest that way.

n2gourmet what are you doing for FAE? Those look really well formed.
Here are some recent pics of my LM top fruited jars, still lacking FAE I think.

I have them in my humidity tent with one zipper all the way up, cool mist ush on 30 minutes an hour, 5 head ush on for 5 minutes an hour, drops to around 85 and then goes back up to 95. my third bag i just cut one slit across the front, they started growing above so I cut around them, its looks like its going to be big!

really, no active air intake or exhaust, just a zipper open? How much substrate do you have in there? Are you concerned it's going to make the surrounding area outside of the tent too humid? I'm starting to think that it might be the strain I have that produces a variation in fruit body development or because they are top fruited. Because the lot that I have seem to vary wildly on what the fruits look like. Although I did have a problem with my FAE where it got blocked for a couple days during their initial development.
I've been able to maintain close to 98% humidity with a 3 minute cycle of a sunbeam ultrasonic and a 50 second fan cycle every 10 minutes.

It's a shame we don't have individual threads for each gourmet species, then users can put their species relevant info and images there. Reading the information would be easier, and if for example I wanted to start a new species, an ideal place to read and ask.
