Very interesting. That looks like a poplar, is it? Do you think they could be P. populinus?

I just went through a taxonomic key for my area (PNW) and it does come out as Populinus, the timing is right as well. I'm fairly sure it was growing on plain old red alder but I'll go back and check sometime to make sure.
I was thinking it was too white to be Pleurotus Ostreatus but didn't think about it too hard, totally makes sense though lol
Update: definitely alder, spore print coming soon

Second and third flush from these jars fruited open air and misted whenever I walk by. They keep coming, so I keep eating.

Spore print on the oysters came out white. Am I correct in believing that I always get a big cloud instead of nice gill imprints because oysters just produce so many spores?

Kinda hard to get a picture of foil. The strange shape is because I didn't use a whole cap, just a little strip off of one side.

Thank you for the confirmation.
First signs of life for one of the wild Pleurotus clones! Terrible picture but that fuzzy stuff around the edges is actually the mycelium fluffing up like it always does

Nice grow inocybe. When you grow in buckets, do you use a liner or do you fill the bucket with holes with substrate and then put it in a another bucket without holes?
