I know he did. I just thought it was funny at the time that the first thing that came to mind was MDMA agar. I use a lot of MYPA agar. Not sure why. I guess maybe cause everything seems to like it.

More Lion's Mane. This bag was on the top shelf of my greenhouse and therefore the furthest bag from the cool mist at the bottom. I don't know if it was the lower FAE or difference in humidity, but the top half of the fruit has a coral appearance vs. the bottom which looks like the more traditional snowball.

The culture I've been using starts out light pink and I normally pick the fruits once the majority of it has turned white. You can see the pink and white color in these pics.

Looks more like a Fresh Air problem to me than humidity.

The coral formations are still tasty. I think the main issue here though is harvesting past it's prime. Once it starts to brown it's released it's spores I think.

Here is one of the best mushrooms I've been able to produce this far. I'm hoping to clone this one within the next few days and see if it's culture is any good in the future.

Oh I think I just realized this thread was for edibles that you are growing not ones that you have found.
You gotta tell me what you are doing to get lions mane that looks so sexy coming out of the jar like that.

Yep, out of 1 liter mason jars on supplemented birch sawdust with wheat bran and gypsum. That one ended up weighing 90 grams, not bad for an initial 500 gram wet substrate, I think.

I mentioned what I did in the How to Determine Lions Mane Maturity thread. My journal goes into much more detail about it, but might be a hard and long read. I'd be happy to answer any question you have, but I am really just a novice.
This mushroom is just the best of the lot, for some reason this one actually fruited a decent looking lions mane. All the others weren't as nice or as big and the quality was rather sporadic, so I am pretty baffled by it myself.

Hey OBM, Oysters require tons of FAE. You'll have way better results open air as long as they don't dry out.

Oh yeah just realized you were the same person I've been talking to. Was a bit high my last posting. Anyways it's not a hard read just a long read. I'll give it a go soon when I'm not so tired and I need the information.
