A gallon of grain boil off water sterilized and inoculated with lions mane LC.

The goal is to produce this.

The sugar water is full of mushroom exudates and also highly medicinal, double boil it down to a molasses consistincy and add it to candies or make chocolates w/it as the sweetener.

lion's mane is so easy. compared with the oz of dry matter you may strain from that jar...they have higher BE than oysters IME. start fruiting in as little as 2-3 weeks...

I've only messed around with Lion's Mane on agar so far... can you point me to a tek or detailed journal? I know that they grow on wood but I don't know about temperature parameters for growth and initiating fruiting...
Thank you for your time Sir Drake =)

My lions mane usually "pins" on my agar and is very slow to colonize. 2% lme 2% agar.

I know they like high humidity but dont like water droplets on them. A light misting should be okay but nothing like oysters. Gr0wer grew them in the same chamber as oysters so id imagine theyre about the same params as oyster but dont like being rained on.

Yea loins mane are stupid easy. When I grow them on over incubated grain spawn the bags are fully colonized and fruiting by the end of week 2 ready to harvest the following week..

the seafood thing has been wildly exaggerated. perhaps if you have experience as a sommelier or work in a professional kitchen, you can pinpoint the subtle flavor notes, but its largely lost on me. I buy LM fruits for $10/lb from a local organic mushroom farm, and they have a mild-to-strong mushroom flavor. for example, they have a stronger flavor than Coprinus comatus, but not as strong flavor as oysters. Texture is really good fried, you can slice them thin and fry them up like potato chips.

Totally agree. They've got a rich flavor, (to ME) stronger than oyster, which maybe is why some compare them to seafood, but yeah they definitely don't taste like lobster. (I live in Maine and fucking KNOW what lobster tastes like!) - sorry had to say that, it's literally pretty much the only perk to living in Maine.
I will STRONGLY agree on the idea of slicing them thin and frying them up till crispy, yeah a bit like potato chips (although not deep fried). If you don't cook em enough they get a nasty, chewy, rubbery texture so I like to do 'em just like Randy said. Well, the dude with Randy as an avatar anyway, your name is hard for my drunk ass to type so I'm just gonna call ya Randy if ya don't mind

Thanks for all the inputs folks... I'm still wondering what a good temperature range is for them.
