Just picked up 100lbs whole oats and 100lbs milo (!) at my locally owned and operated feed store, as well as 12 more qt jars and ordered bags, jars, and an inoculation loop. I need a bigger house.
My spawn/substrate closet is pretty much stuffed

And MorePies asked what the milo looked like so:

I haven't used it yet but the jar MorePies gave me was 50/50 oats and Milo and I really liked it so I think I'm going to be a copy
Edited to add:
Going to pour out the rest of the plates I have. Decided to throw a HWFP in there to test the practices I have read about training the mycelium- after letting it dissipate out I decided it wasn't enough coverage so tossed another large one in. Satisfied I loaded it into the St George bottle (I always die my Agar green, so its fitting, eh?). PCing at 15psi for 45 minute.

Had to edit (so as not to self bump) to add these: 3 days after dropping and they are almost halfway done with the plate

And should I go ahead and "transfer" the contam the hell outa there?

And one more edit to not bump: my contamed reishi are looking great after this rain! Can't wait to make a tea- what do you recommend- mortar and pestle?

And Constantine decided my foot was a good place to crash while I was typing all this up. I hate this cuz he's comfy but I need to do things

I have cut out a contam in a plate with success. Safest is transfer the myc to new plate. I don't think you will get anywhere with a mortar. Reishi can ruin a blender. For tea use sharp knife and cut thin strips.

Thanks Quadman. I guess I'll go that route.
