A high powered taser, bean bag shotgun, wrist rocket

Edit: any one of those will stop anyone from doing whatever it is they are doing....instantly(depending on the ammo you use for the wrist rocket)

ASP expandable baton.

I really like the electroless nickel finish/wavemaster grip and the leverage cap is a must-have accessory.  Also easy to carry, can be in checked airline luggage, and non lethal.  Training with the thing is fun and a decent workout. There are tons of police training videos on expandable batons on YouTube that are very informative.  I absolutely love the things.  The 21" is my favorite, while the 26" offers the longest range and the most force behind the strike, it's too big to carry around practically.  Don't waste money on the 16" model it's not very effective.  Main downside of the batons is they have a little rattle to them when retracted, but some scabbards fix it.  The 511 tactical model works well.
