Compressing mushrooms into blocks for long term storage

I was wondering, has anyone ever tried using a hydraulic press for compressing perfectly dried mushrooms, into small blocks for long term storage?
At most i like to have a small lunch box sized tupperwear box of stuff i would immediately need, the biggest i can store appropriately, given the need for desiccants in there, but, since i really really like growing mushrooms, active just as much as non actives, it leads me with the problem of storage, so, i have considered, hey, you have a 200t press, why not try that. I feel rather uneasy too having so much mushroom laying around out in the open, theres no reason for it but i often worry that if police came around i would have so much on hand it might look like i was selling.
i know i "could" compress the mushrooms, but, how much should i? and would there be any added benefits to it, like, would compressed bricks or lumps be more resilient to oxidation by water, or, are there better ways to go about it? short of doing an extract because that just seems wasteful and putting too many eggs in one basket so to speak.

Probably would turn to dust. Why not vacuum seal?
Also not every culture/strain is ideal for long-term storage. High psylocybin and low psilocin is ideal.

Who wants a big block of shrooms? Part of the bag appeal of shrooms, if any appeal, is seeing the caps and stems. Sorta verifies.

If there is any moisture at all in that block, they will rot over time. Maybe if you have a good dehydrator, press into a block, then vacuum seal and freeze they might be fine?

Apparently he wants the block. Not everyone here plans on making them look like "bag appeal" all the time as not all of us just plan to sell to others and well if you're talking about giving them away, they should just be grateful.

Dry them cracker dry, then vacuum seal them.
Use a bigger bag then you need, cut it open and grab a little. Then reseal it.

vacuum sealed with desiccant, (and a hand warmer if u wanna go the extra mile)..stored this way they can last years..
ohh and i just read an interesting post saying that epsom salt is the best desiccant.
the only problem i see with pressing them is that the more of the mushroom that is exposed to air the more psilocin can degrade..
though i must admit, i want to see a block of mushrooms haha

Making homemade desiccant packs from epsom salt is a great way to ruin all your fruits once the salt reaches its carrying capacity and turns into a liquid.
Use silicone gel packets if you actually want to keep your shrooms.

Unless you are smuggling 50 pounds into a festival or something, compressed blocks are not a great idea. Are you going to consume the entire thing when you decide to open it? Probably not. I portion my shroomies out into 7 gram vacuum bags because I usually don't consume more than that in one sitting and I only indulge maybe once or twice a month. If they stay vacuum sealed from day one, they will last a long time. Don't give the police a reason to invite themselves over for a visit. Besides, even if you did get caught with your stash, they would probably give you a trafficking charge no matter how you stored them because you probably have a scale.

The only thing I would want a block of is solid extracts.
Over ten grams is considered bulk here. The law doesn't respect a serious personal stash.

Try, not to use, so many commas
Munch's idea is pretty solid (no pun) and show's you it can work, so if you really just wanna compact it to save space or whatever go for it. As far as advantages for bulk I can't think of too many, but you probably won't have to grind them first with the compressor you're using.
Maybe you just want to mail a few pounds compressed to look like a postage stamp....
Obviously I wouldn't use the full 2 tons of pressure and since I'm not very knowledgeable in this field I cannot recommend an optimal pressure.
You're welcome.

hmm, i was thinking more along the lines that a compressed mushroom block would not expire quickly and that i would just cut off what i wanted each time. Since i can compress it so tight, i figured everything but the immediate exposed surface should be pretty safe. Plus i have the press, but no vacuum sealer, but, i think thats going to have to change when i start growing oysters
