Still gets mold, keywords "Broken down", the mold can skip a lot of breaking down.
Mold will germinate fine on sawdust-pellets, because it's broken down.

Mycelium break down then absorb small units to feed.

In terms of bacteria, mycelium should win that battle against most types of bacteria.
