PF jars - grain gets wet in PC

Jars with lids tightly screwed on. 1/4 inch hole in each lid, correct size filter discs under lids. Cook in PC at 15 psi. Grain gets very wet. As an experiment, cook more jars without the pressure controlling "rocker" on the little vent pipe thing in the lid (so the pressure doesn't go up). Grain doesn't gain any additional moisture.
Any idea how the grain can get wet when using the rocker?

You're capping your jars with foil, right? How high is the water level in the PC?

Foil closely fitted over tops of jars and at least halfway down the sides. Water a little less than 2 inches deep. Wet grain in jars even on upper cooking rack in PC several inches above water. Not sure wet batches always occur with rocker and never without rocker. For given batch, there can be variation in wetness from one jar to next.

I would start by looking at your "grain" prep...... You say "PF jars" which is BRF + VERM + WATER, no grains involved there. I'm also not sure how you are doing a full PC cycle without the toggle on and only 2 inches of water, without the PC boiling dry. Some more info would help, TEK used, length of PC cycle, sub recipie....etc.
Merry Christmas!!

Regular PF tek except Alien Substrate Formula instead of BRF.
Alien Substrate Formula (makes 10 1/2 half-pint jars)
3/4 cup quinoa 3/4 cup long grain brown rice 1/8 cup flax seed 1/8 cup millet seed 1/8 cup rye berries 1 1/2 cup vermiculite 2 tbsp garden gypsum 3 cup spring water
I used the word "grain" because quinoa, rice, flax, millet and rye are all grains; maybe I'm misusing the word as it relates to grow teks.
Same problem was encountered with BRF + verm + water.
PC cycle: 30 minutes after button on safety device in lid handle pops up (50-55 minutes total).
22 quart PC, without toggle / rocker water level drops from 1 7/8 inch to 1 1/8 inch.

So, I guess with respect to grow teks, "grain" means "loose grain", so I WAS misusing the term by applying it to PF.
Anyway, it looks like water getting into the jars during PCing isn't a problem that other people are seeing, then...?
