Breaking down cakes

So im about 1/2 way through incubation on my first batch ever...im growing cambodian, golden teacher, alicabenzi , and golf coast strains...i have 30 cakes in total. Unfortunately I have just enough room in my incubator ( that will turn into my fruiting chamber) for all my jars..i understand that the optimum distance between cakes is 3-4 inches...so im ether going to have to ether set up a second fruiting chamber or..i was thinking about shredding my mature cakes and packing them into a tray to make a brick for each speacies...then i would have more surface area and no need to worry about spacing...has anyone done this? Any imput?

You should buy a new FC anyways and get a clear one to let light in. If I were you I'd leave them alone and fruit them as is

I would leave them as is too. And a clear sgfc to fruit them in. Sometimes when mine get crowded I stack them with foil in between.

Here is a picture of my fruiting chamber with them stacked. And there was more in there that are currently dunking. I just stick tape on the outside with the strain name so I don't forget what's what.

I would make another SGFC, they are going to get cramped in a single chamber. I find I need a little room to work around them once the fruits get larger. I need to remove the cakes in order to cut the caps to make prints. Also when picking the fruits that mature earlier than the rest, If it's too cramped you will be knocking pins and fruits loose. Good job though mate! Make sure you do your SGFC to specs though.

I have two sgfc's like this. And both are full like this. I've never had any problems. I do agree more room is nicer though. This is my last batch of cakes. Once they finish producing I'm going to phase them out. As I have recently switch to wbs, trays and mono tubs.
Almost looks like the op's jars are tall half pint jars. I can't really tell in the pic. If so stacking might be a bit harder. Mine are the short wide mouth. And 30 jars two fruiting chambers probably would be best.

The jars are tall 1/2 pint jars so stacking will be a bit of a challenge...the chamber has a light built into the lid that will be set up on a 8 hour on 16 off timer. I suppose ill look into another chamber. I obviously want maximum yeald. Any good substitutes for perlite or is it just worth ordering more?

I haven't had a problem with spores101 all of my jars are colonising well. Its local for me and its priced for my budget. I was however planning on doing my own prints and just continuing to regenerate. What is bak?

Nevmind i found a local source for perlite. I was worried about having to ship it. I'll continue to use perlite.
