Milos grain?

Ive been looking for a good grain sub to spawn to bulk with manure sub and was gonna buy some sterilized bags of rye but found Milos sterilized grain not sure if anyone's familiar with this and if so is it better than using rye which they claim it is but you cant believe everything you see. They also said you can ask them to add a higher moisture content would that help speed up colonization rate and help to prevent drying out in the monotub or would it be better to just keep it at the normal moisture content and just dunk the sub after inoculation then add it to the monotub with manure? 1 more thing I know your supposed to use a 1:4 max. or 1:2 min. ratio but would it hurt my yield or fuck up anything if I used 6 pounds of grain to 10 pounds sub?

I've used milo grains with consistent success, rye grains are just as easy to prep tho and also work great, so it's really up to your preference. With the bulk sub, definitely stay within a 1:2 ratio of colonized grain jars to bulk sub. Measure them out in your quart jars to make sure you get it right before putting them in your monotub. Only dunk your monotub after the second or third flush, the moisture content will be fine as long as you prep your coir correctly and keep your tub dialed in nicely.

Milo and Millet both work very well for spawn. Those are the two primary ingredients in WBS anyway.
I never understood why vendors insist on selling grain by the pound. Every cultivator I know measures spawn by the quart. There are lots of opinions on spawn ratios, and a lot of that opinion depends on the species grown. For cubes, Ive done everything from 1:6 to straight cased grain. These days though, I have found a nice balance between speed and yeild at a 1:2 ratio.

Alright thanx for the help. But I already ordered 6 pounds of milos and a 10 pound bag of manure and gypsum do you think it would be fine to just MUX it all up together for my bulk sub or should I take out about a pound of grain before I MUX it all up for a 1:2 ratio?

You should be colonizing the grain prior to mixing it in the substrate. If youre mixing the grain and sub together at the beginning then you need to be doing some kind of invitro/bottle tek.

Sorry I should of been a lil more clear I meant to say "after" the grains done colonizing and its ready to be spawned to the bulk sub with the manure would it be fine if I used 6 pounds of grain to 10 pounds of manure and gypsum?

Measure out your sub and grains in quart jars, it'll make your life a lot easier
