A third of the way thru Jan and we have farmers tapping Maple trees already.
Agreed. Oil will be the primary economic engine in the vast majority of countries probably for decades to come. Most countries can't afford alternative energy measures. So, as you say, we'll just have to suffer the consequences and see if we can't mitigate long-term damage. We are indeed past the tipping point, anyway.
Saying to the developing world that they'll just need to hang in there and live in poverty for a few decades while the developed world figures out how to cut their dependence on oil while we consume it all and find new energy sources is a pretty tough sell.

The poles are melting and getting warmer. Only delusion fuck retards are believing global warming is a scam or natural. Even the pentagon realizes global warming is in deed fact occurring. This changes the situations around the world. Water, famine, all these things effect global security.
Don't tard so hard or low dude!
I like it warmer anyways.
if there is no catastrophic melting of the ice caps (ie, world-changing), then hotter is better...things generally die in the cold...so....
There is melting of ice at the poles. Also I just saw a honey bee in Ohio in January. Gotta say that's a first.

China is averaging 2 new coal fired electricity plants EVERY WEEK going online and have been doing this for 7 years ...
They are consuming, themselves, over 4 billion tons of coal a year ... about 4 times what we burn in the US.
If you're serious about global warming, you gotta start with China, India and South East Asia.

even china is realising it needs to shift away from fossil fuels. If more developed countries invest in renewable tech, eventually it will be cheaper for developing nations.
also there is the point about consumption levels- while some less developed countries might be dependent on dirtier fuels, richer countries' citizens tend to consume multiples of what poorer countries' citizens do.

China is not going to shut down the thousand coal fired electricity plants they've built over the last 10 years. That's not going to happen. They're consuming 4 billion tons of coal a year and that number will get higher. That's just reality. The rest is talk for climate summits.

Seriously, I read The Art of The Deal back in the early 90's ... Half the book is him bragging about how he conned and lied to his investors in order to get them to go along with his schemes/plans. He feels strongly that the ends justify the means. That you have to say and do whatever, honest or dishonest, to get what you want and then deliver in the end. Honesty really is a non-issue to Trump and we're seeing that in his campaign and first few days.
He's a marketing guy. Half of his game is just image. Can he deliver results in the context of government where he's not able to hire and fire on a whim? We'll see.

Yeah, I had to figure it out cause I don't have mod access to this sub. That also means I can't edit any of his posts. All's well that ends well I guess.

trump: It is clear from this site that the verb to trump has been used extensively across Britain to refer to the breaking of wind. It is especially the case in the North, in Wales and certainly in Norfolk, when I was a child in the 1950s. This use is confirmed by the OED. However though it is therein described as vulgar my own experience is that it was a term encouraged by parents as a means of avoiding the far less socially salubrious fart. However its use appears to be unknown in the United States, which seems a pity! Is this definitely the case? b. To give forth a trumpet-like sound; spec. to break wind audibly (slang or vulgar).

Chosen by god but a bigger hypocrite then any before and putting the country at risk.
Remember how Donald Trump hammered on Hillary Clinton for using a private email server during her tenure as Secretary of State? During the election, Trump went as far as wanting to put “Crooked Hillary” behind bars, because having staffers use emails not monitored by the government could be a bad thing. But according to a new report from Newsweek, key Trump staffers are using accounts running on the Republican National Committee’s private email server.
