It was my final required jump for my license, all I need now is a packing class and the license is mine
Still can't believe how happy this shit makes me, it was the last load of the day at sunset so it isn't too bright in the video and I didn't have a choice about what I'm wearing in it so dont judge me all students have to wear the same set up.
I also suck with anything computer related so I couldn't put music over it to get rid of the loud wind sound.

I wish I could, I tried putting music over it and gave up after like 5 minutes of not having the slightest clue how

Usually you can ask them to put music over it but they were somewhat busy so my coach didn't have time, everytime someone asks for a song on it they always say "if you say tom petty free falling don't bother coming back" lolQuote:

Idk why but they call that tracking, it's IMO one of the most fun aspects of it and one of the most vital, it's mainly so you can put distance between people before pulling out your canopy or if someone opens up below you and you're coming down at them you can move away and not fall directly into them. That's my favorite part of every jump so far because that actually feels like you're flying.

Really cool!
Is there any reason you keep hitting the person with you, or are you just excited, looks like you keep pushing off the cameraman, is that something you guys are supposed to learn?

Yeah it's part of the student course to make sure you can safely "dock" with another jumper without slamming into them and knocking them out lol everything else in there is for the most part basic maneuvers but most people end up jumping with groups because solo jumps are only really fun for so long so they focus on docking to make sure you're not a risk when you get a license and can jump with anybody. He basically told me after the flips and barrel roll to do a dock inbetween every other move and try to get as many in as possible.

Cool vid. How fast are you moving? at about 1:00 you slap hands with the guy and then bolt out of view.

We're falling at roughly 120 mph give or take 10 mph. How fast I'm flying away from him i have no idea but its possible to go much faster if you de-arch more and have a straighter body position than I had but since I'm still new im just focused on making sure I'm travelling a straight line lol That was probably the fasted Ive achieved so far

When you hit terminal velocity its visually so much like jet-propelled swimming or something, you really get a sense of a very dense fluid all around. And that zoom-away you did already looked terrifyingly fast, but I bet it probably doesn't actually FEEL like you're zooming away, did it? Cause the ground wouldn't really move at all in relation to your perception because you're so high up?
Its something I really want to do someday

I know people did that in their military service, is one of the hardest kind of force there is, I mean hard voor the mind to withstand, how you're threated there, just stories I' ve heard, so I can't make a statement on my experience,

Yeah the ground barely moves or doesn't appear to move much because of the height you're at. You can kind of feel like you're moving away, the way the wind feels like it's hitting you and the way the wind sounds changes when you zoom away like that (almost like a sharper sounding wind if that makes sense) but I would of never thought I went that far if I didn't get the video from it.
You should do it! Even if you only do it once just to say you did it because the experience itself is worth it, as well as incredibly fun lol It seems like a very unsafe thing to do because of the nature of what you're doing but it's a lot safer than a lot of people think it is, even more so if you're just doing a tandem jump.

Yea I'm not enough of an adrenaline junkie to get certified, I just want to do a tandem jump sometime. I may actually do it this upcoming spring, my brother-in-law loves it and has told me he'd go with me if I ever came home again. Its going to happen in my lifetime for sure, I've wanted to do it since the first time I was on a roller coaster

If you remember this conversation after you go let me know how you liked it!
You never know though, I said the same thing before I actually did it and everyone I talked to there says that's how they felt before doing it, (mostly) everyone who gets into it usually started out just wanting to do it once because it seemed awesome. Only reason I did it initially was because I always wanted to to try it but it always got pushed off every year and then I saw a friend post a video on fb of him doing it so I said fuck it and signed it up for that weekend. Next thing you know I fell in love with it and can't imagine myself stopping as of now. But then again almost 99% of people who do it say they're coming back right as they land and go on about how awesome it is but never come back lol
For me personally it's not so much about the adrenaline rush, the first 10 or so jumps I did it was kind of extreme and even hard to remember the jumps afterwords to some extent (will probably be the case for your first jump), they call it sensory overload because it's a lot to take in all at once in a short amount of time. Now it's surprisingly relaxing and almost meditative in some way and just makes me happy and gives me something to look forward to and makes life easier to tolerate, I guess most people with a hobby they love could say the same exact thing though
