Ok, here is what Trump said:

When Morning Joe asked Trump what he meant, Trump replied:
Quote:
Donald Trump said: Let it be an arms race, we will outmatch them at every pass. And outlast them all.
But you say you understand Trump, so please "interpret what he means".
You previously said: "Look, there's not going to be an arms race."

Perhaps, since you just quoted his words on the subject, you'd be able to point me to where he "calls for an arms race" or "advocates for an arms race." Or you could admit that I'm right, and the liberal media has indeed been lying about what he has said.
He's probably just continuing Obama's plan to invest 1 trillion into our nuclear capabilities. And now that he's restoring ties with Russia, he's going to maintain peace through strength and put an end to the arms race we were already in with them that you, ecstatic and other liberals literally said NOTHING about EVER.

OK so that boils down to "we have to keep building more nukes because others are doing it, until everyone realizes that nukes are bad" how is that any better? that's pretty much, "we have to engage in a nuclear arms race because others, but we may not have to in the future" loosely

Webster, we are not in an arms race with Russia. We have not been in an arms race with Russia since the mid-eighties -- Trump is not acknowledging anything that is actually going on. Peace through strength? We already have thousands of nuclear warheads. How much stronger could we be? We can blow up the planet fifty times with what we have.
Learn the facts before you take on a superiority complex; we are not "already in" an arms race at all.

Critical thinkers like Webster know they shouldn't listen to what Trump actually says, but rather listen to what the conservative media has to say about him.
that's logical

Actually, we are. If you read the article that I linked then you'd know that we are. Despite the media blackout and the apprehension of the MSM actually calling it one, trying to develop better arms faster than a country you have hostile relations with is developing them, that is by definition an arms race.
Thank God DJT isn't petty and corrupt enough to engage in the type of hostility towards Russia our current administration does or a Hillary administration would have.
I'm not developing a superiority complex by the way. You might just be thinking that I do because my political predictions have been far superior to yours.

Updating the stockpile is not an arms race. By its very nature, you are creating weapons designed to exploit enemy weaknesses. This is nothing like what was going on during the Cold War.

that sounds like both authorities want to expand their supplies, and Trump's almost-immediate retort to Putin's comments (the quote i posted above), would imply a feeling of competition.
do i need to define competition for you?

Im not denying that the current administration is in an arms race with Russia and China. What I'm saying is that due to Trump easing our tense relations with Russia, trump is ending the arms race by taking the hostility and implications out of it.

nuclear weapons, in and of themselves, are tools of hostility. how you think that can be removed is asinine. his comment was in DIRECT RESPONSE to Putin's. How does that remove hostility or implications?
