Which one would you buy and why? Comparing price, overall effectiveness, etc. Is the volcano really worth the extra price?

Volcano. Hands down. It is the be all end all of vapes. But if you can't afford it, get one of those box vaporizers with a whip. Those work pretty well

ha, Gastro The silversurfer IS a box vape with a whip.
Anyhow, I own the former and have a ton of experience smoking the later, and I'd have to say the Silver Surfer is the most cost effective purchase here. The volcano is a very nice smoke, but it's not worth the extra $300 IMO. I get super ripped off the Surfer with very smooth smoke, and it barely cost me $200 with extras.

to me the vape high is more trippy, but clear at the same time. I own a volcano and love it, its the better choice if you dont mind spending the extra money for a fine piece of machinery

the volcano is not the only choice for a quality vape
the ssv is a really good choice if youre looking for a direct draw vape, its got an all glass air path, and a ceramic heating core
the volcano is a decent bag vape, but imo its not good enough to justify the price
i suggest you do a lot of research before making a decision on this, search around the net on the two models for actual fact (not just hype, which the cano seems to have a lot of) and look around at different models
quite honestly, it comes down to yuor own personal preference, whether you want a bag vape, which has a lot of consistency from hit to hit, and the ability to take your vapor away from the vaporizer, or a whip (direct draw) vape, which gives you more control over the hit and stays much fresher and taster, but where you have to take the vape elsewhere to set it up
for a direct draw vape, i would definately reccomend the silver surefer, but for a bag vape i reccommenndt the extreme vaporizer, which does both bags and whip delivery, but really excells in its bag abilities
any which way, i reccommend you do some research and make an informed decision, heres a link to a great vaporizer forum, it it the most concentrated repository of vaporizer info on the net, and its the place with the most info on the extreme and many other vapes http://www.fuckcombustion.com/
for the ssv, i reccommend you look up a man that goes by the name "tokinglx" his primary forum is marijuana.com, and he has made some excellent videos about the ssv, i highly reccommend his "one gram challenge" found here

I'd get the Silver Surfer if I were you. I have one and it's incredible.
(posted it here before in that SSV thread I made lol)
The thing about bag vapes is you have to wait for the bag to fill up and you don't have as much control over your hits. With my SSV, I can control my inhales by going faster or slower while with a bag vape you can't do that. For example, if you go slow with high temp, you are letting the hot air have more time to stay in contact with the bud, so you're getting a very rich vapor hit with very concentrated THC and what not (these types of hits have even made me cough before).
With the bag, you just set the temp and wait. There isn't as much control over the type of vapor you're getting but then again you don't have to do as much work. So really it's up to you.
My SSV gets me HIGH. Very very very high in the head. Very mental. I was down at a friends last week and we decided to smoke a few bowls. I did 3 bowls and I was nowhere near as high as I usually get from my SSV. I was disappointed that night lol. Somehow my SSV gets me way higher. I'm not sure why. In fact I doubt I'd have been able to even go through that amount I smoked that night with my vaporizer. With my SSV, I usually give up on the 2nd bowl and I'm really fucked up.
And the best part is how much weed it saves. You use way less, you get more high, and you can bake the vaporized remains later. Win-win-win. And yes I've had success with baking vaporized remains. I saved up a ton of vaped bud in a jar then baked all of it at once. It was almost overwhelming and it felt like time slowed down but that's another story.
Anyway, the SSV kicks ass and you'll definitely not regret buying it. I'm sure the Volcano kicks ass too but I prefer whip vapes for various reasons.
Oh and eventually you can extract resin from the SSV wand and vape that. It's supposedly super potent stuff (since it's not burned or used - it's just concentrated THC content). I don't think you can do that with a Volcano.
Another thing I like about the SSV is you can customize it to make it look kickass. Your SSV is pretty unique. When you get a Volcano, you get a Volcano... I'm still thinking about buying a cool custom wand but I heard it's harder to extract the resin out of those. Oh and last thing, I love the fact that it's all ceramic. I don't like dealing with heated plastic parts and etc. I'm sure the temp needs to be way higher to leech any chemical, but I just prefer going all ceramic. On the SSV, the only non-ceramic part that your vapor is touching is the metal screen and it's not high enough of a temp to leech anything.
EDIT ---
Zinglons Acolyte -
Yeah tokinGLX is the guy who kind of convinced me to go with the SSV. I asked him a few questions over on another forum after I saw his videos. He's friends with the company that makes the Silver Surfers (7th Floor) and if you enter in his name as the discount code ("Paul") you'll get a discount on your order (10% I think).

Damn your set up is color co-ordinated and all!
Got a few questions, as I bought a VaporCannon a few weeks ago. It's the hand's free version. I have it hooked up to my water bong also.
How much weed do you load? (I'm loading between .1-.2g at a time)
What temp do you use? (If I have my knob over 1/3 of the way it's very hard to not catch my stash on fire, even with slow pulling)

I own a Volcano and i gotta say it was kinda of a waste of money, It is a nice smoke, but it was not worth what i paid for it... I would go with the cheaper of the 2.

I think Volcano Vaporizer is the best. If quality is good then price doesn't matter.

I haven't tried the Silver Surfer. The Volcano is great but overpriced IMO. I would suggest checking out the E-Nano. It's far cheaper than the Volcano and very very efficient. Very good vapor quality (unless you're looking for very big clouds) and taste. I own one and I'm very happy with it. 0,2g go a long way with this vape.

Tried both, and went through the same contemplation myself.
After lots of research I ended up getting 'Da Buddha'. But then I wanted the option of having the bag experience, so it was a battle between the Volcano and the Arizer Extreme Q for me.
I ended up getting the Arizer and I fucking love it. It's basically the same thing as the volcano, but cheaper, but still from a reputable company.
