Is it possible to crossbreed wild dagga and klip dagga?

I have done some research on Wild Dagga (Leonotis Leonurus) and Klip Dagga (Leonotis Nepetifolia). What I have found is that both plants are legal in the United States, and that when smoked, the flowers of each plant gives the user a very mild marijuana-like high. The chemical that is responsible for the high is called Leonurine, and is water-soluble.
I haven't yet tested smoking either of these plants, but I plan on doing so once I grow my own. This now leads to my question: Is it possible to crossbreed Leonotis Leonurus and Leonotis Nepetifolia to create some new strain? I would guess so, because both plants are in the same genus (not to mention they almost look identical).
In addition, is it possible to selectively breed either plant over many generations to become more potent? That is, of course, to breed either plant to produce higher levels of Leonurine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This could be done, but would probably take a lot of time and effort. Since it's suppose to be a mild effect you would need to analyze the amount of chemical rather then trying to subjectively sample each strain in order to know which ones to breed.

If it doesn't work you can always try the baking soda trick.

I wonder how this would go, have you experienced the mild effects? I have grown Klip Dagga a few times and even grew some in a greenhouse and it was growing fast and the flowers were nice. However when it came to effects, I didn't feel anything. I've tried extract methods, and the same thing. Maybe I had a weak strain, who knows.

I'm actually growing Wild Dagga right now in my house. I also ordered some Klip Dagga seeds online, and I will grow them when they arrive to my house.
Unfortunately, I have not smoked/tried Wild Dagga or Klip Dagga yet. However, I have read from many people that these plants DO have some psychoactive effect, and that is why I want to increase the concentration/amount of Leonurine in the plants.
Just like how marijuana was bred over the years into many different and more potent strains, I'd like to try to do the same with Wild Dagga and Klip Dagga.

I grew klip dagga this past summer. It was a cool plant, very easy to grow, and flowered continuously for months. It survived over a month without rain. I'd like to know more about how and when to harvest the plant. For about two months, I would harvest the flower petals maybe 4 times a week. The effects are mild at best. I always used some cannibas with it, the two are said to compliment each other. I'm not sure if harvesting the petals as soon as they appear was the right thing or not. Maybe they need to be on the plant for some time to develop potency. I will say that that they kept putting out more flower petals as fast as I could pluck them, and the smoke tastes like a campfire.

Yeah, I heard the smoke from the petals was pretty harsh. Since the alkaloid in the plants, Leonurine, is water-soluble, I was thinking about extracting the Leonurine and making it into a powder or resin and then either smoke that or put it in a tea. But first I will try smoking the flowers on their own.

I've smoked it, did not feel much at all from several bowls. I don't smoke weed anymore either . I'm going to make an extract and try it then try the extract with a MAOI leaf
