When I first started I bought a pressure cooker at Target (never again...) and about 20 jars.  The lady behind me in line asked what I was canning, and I blurted out the first thing that came to mind: kombucha.  She gave me a weird look like "what the fuck?? you don't pressure cook kombucha"
:ohnowaitokay:

I buy from amazon now.

Y'all know how you clean syringes like you would if making a spore syringe,  yeah? Well,  I boiled honey water instead of just water.  Same aspirate, squirt, aspirate,  squirt, etc. process.  Then I squirted them on plates and aspirated, like Munch's old LI video.

All three grew into a LC. One had some bacteria,  but still pushed out a single flush on a bottle.

I kept one in a baggie,  in a drawer,  for a year. I shot onto a cake a while back and it still rocked.  Unfortunately,  I forgot about the cake and found a crazy invitro mess.

I've been looking at bins before and found a 66 qt tub with 12 jars and poly inside it.

There is a small penicillium colony growing in the beam right above my SAB. Doesn't cause me any problems so I just left it.

Spending a shit ton of time looking at damn plastic bins for monotubs lol  :jolly:

Lmao definitely been there. The 66qts were a couple shelves up at lowes so I was climbing the shelves (probably like 20-30ft tall) just to check out the different brands that had 66qt bins. Spent hella time inspecting each brand, putting back any bin that was deformed. Ended up walking away because they didn't have sterilite :crazy2:

I've always hunt mushrooms by smell. The woods in MIDX got really dense, so looking around didn't do much good. You had to find the scent, then start scouring the area.

The first time I "pasteurized" something, I heated my bulk substrate in a myco bag in my PC to 160, then took it out.  At the time I thought pasteurizing meant heating to 161F for 15 seconds like just like with food and drink.  I recall that shit not working out very well.   :smokeweedallday:

Lmao, anytime I'm buying something and I can't come up with a legit excuse, I just tell me "Oh I have no idea what it's for, I'm picking it up for my friend cause he hurt himself and needed errands to be done." And they always go, aww that's so sweet of you.

Dude spaghetti jars are perfect for LI. Narrow jars that are easy to hold with single piece lids with built in gasket.

*first time posting*

I always look for vintage pressure cookers when I'm at antique stores/flea markets. I've got two old Nationals and one old All American. Can get them for as low as $5. If they look grungy a good steel wool rub gives them a grand rustic look, just make sure to swap the gasket so it doesn't give.
