Yea just to get clean pour. Then I normally make 10+ plates. And buy the time I've used them they have no h2o2 in them.
It's pretty cowboy. And I don't really recommend. But it's worked for me a whole bunch.
It was dated back when I used to grow a lot 7 years ago. So I by no means recommend it.
In fact if you go back into the archives I believe RR told me it was bad technique back then.
Don't tell him I never stopped. I just do it in secret.

What temp are you pouring the agar at? Peroxide undergoes explosive decomposition at 50 C. That means it’s turned to water instantly. What temp are you pouring the agar at?

I confess I have no idea what to call this. Agrocybe Aegerita (Pioppino) black popler Thanks Psilo Mebbe AA, or PIO, or BP?
Edit: well kinda looks "Pio" is the nickname. I'll be looping spores to agar soon. And I plan to start a Grow Log in the Gourmet Forum.

It's a bad idea to use antibiotic plates or similar techniques in a home laboratory and they must be disposed of properly or you are risking everyone's health by creating potential superbugs. Antibiotic plates and other similar techniques can inadvertently produce Antibiotic resistant bacteria and other organisms

About 35C is where I add it.

Yea that's why it's on my dirty secret list. It's not been recommended for a while now. I'm not advocating for it. I just get good results from it.
But you can make the same argument to the doctors of the world too. Superbugs exist because we have a default to use antibiotics at every chance.
I go into the doctors with a headache and they write out a script.

Same reason I hate when people are addicted to hand sanitizer. Just go wash your hands it’s cleaner and doesn’t speed up bacterial evolution by an absurd amount.
Funny how things work out though, as soon as drug resistant germs are becoming a threat we’ve advanced nanotechnology just enough to find alternate methods to kill them. I just saw an article about an AI system that’s discovered new antibiotics also.

I think the whole handsanitizer thing is gross, unless you can't get to clean water, even then it is still gross.

For doctors there is a practical reason for increasing the risk of creating super bugs though. Of course I'm not whole heatedly advocating for antibiotics as I realize there are issues with them. But all I'm getting at is that increasing the chance of creating super bugs is more permissible if your reason is to treat illness compared to reducing contams in your at-home drug grow.
It's pretty easy for you to use an alternative. For doctors it is not. No shade - This thread is for confessions afterall I'm just pointing it out

Glad you got the spore print. 😊 I hope you are able to grow some tasty eats with those. You are right they have a bunch of names - for the same mushroom. I just had some delicious sautéed king oyster mushrooms for dinner. Let me know if you’d like some king oyster spores!
I’ll look for your grow log and cheer you on! Peace MycoBro!

I only grow oysters and shiitake and hopefully lions mane soon. So no drug growing... Is it better or worse that I risk a super big so O can have fresh mushrooms for my weekend breakfast.
Anyways. Exactly as your say. This is a confession. Not a promotion.

That’s why doctors emphasize the need to finish your course of antibiotics even once you start to feel better. My mom worked at a hospital and drilled this stuff into our heads lol.
I confess I harvested a tub then put it under a chair out of the way and forgot about it til this morning when I happened to see it’s lid poking out. I thought I had left it that way and it was for sure dried out but turns out it was just late flush monsters trying to escape.

I confess i always looked past this thread thinking "meh that can't be a good thread." How wrong i was, especially when conversation like the one about h2o2 comes about! Now i have to resist the urge to reread a thousand fucking pages...
Actual confession; after 1.5 years of growing, trich has finally stricken me, and i'm not positive of the cause. I believe it was shitty spawn+overly wet sub, and i think i removed all offenders in time to not fuck up future tubs, but MAN am i worried. Had 15 tubs going, it took out 6 before the first flush, and another 4 after the first flush.
