I confess that it has come time to shut down. To much shit going on and I feel bad I never got the nats to grain. I'm gonna slant them and the rest of my good cultures and take the flowhood down for the season. I will be back soon.

I confess, over the last 6 months I have spent way too much time browsing the local thrift stores and Salvation Army. It's gotten so bad that almost all the workers now recognize me and chat me up in most locations. Think I'm gonna have to take a few month hiatus from browsing lol.
But fuck it... I have found some absolute gold mines of mush cult supplies/tools in there for dirt cheap.

I wanted to share some, not a lot of my friends relate to my new hobby so I don’t get to share a lot. Been involved for about a month, I’ve had a lot of failure and some exciting (to me) success. Tried to start with MS Syringes to grain, done a G2G transfer but haven’t made it to substrate yet. Though I may be close with 1 Qt. One thing I’ve learned is plan for failure and learn from it. Anyway here’s a few agar plates and a few grain jars and a little bit of contamination

I use h2o2 for my agar even though it's an outdated technique.
It kind of feels like I'm cheating rather then using proper sterile techniques.

So you add it when? You realize it’s just turning into water if you heat it right? Do you keep the plates in the dark or use opaque plates? Cause you know light turns it into water right?

I add it just as it starts solidifying. Breakdown temp is over 50c I believe.
Rule of thumb I go by is if you can hold the jar in your hand and it not sold you, add it in.
I've poured unknown amount of plates in open air this way.

I use it to pour. Once is poured, waiting a few days it's not active anymore. Only gives you cleaner pour. After that I use sab to inoculate.
I pour in kitchen in open air. Never have a problem.

What do you mean you use it to pour? Like you swirl it in right before you pour the agar? And then pour in open air? Sounds ballsy. Let me know if you ever do a grow log, I’d give it a watch for sure.
