I confess I’m a lazy fuck.  lately :stoner:

I’ve been justifying ordering Pizza Hut like every other day because I don’t want to cook and because of corona they started dropping food off in a huge clear trash bag that makes an awesome liner for underbed tubs.

Same internal dialogue every time.

“Man I’m hungry. Should probably go buy some groceries. But, it’s super hot outside and I’m gonna need to spawn a tub soon”

I confess that sometimes when I order take out, I wonder if it will be delivered in PP5 plastic containers that I can use for pasty plates or sterilizing grain / grow containers.

See the thing is I’m a fiend for the stuffed crust.

lol next time I end up with regular pizza or breadsticks I’ll make my own stuffed crust but with agar wedges instead of cheese.

The mycosupreme.

I’m gonna try it and if somehow it works I’m gonna bring it in and complain I didn’t order mushroom.

I confess that my elderly mother was able to see a grow from start to finish for the first time. She said "why, in the hell are you stomping around the pasture looking for them things when you can just grow'em? So, I was able to educate her on the different types of mushrooms and explain mycorrhizal relationships and Saprobic fungi after about the 10th time of her asking me to grow Chanterelles. Then she realized where dad has been getting his mushrooms 😁

Speaking of dad, he is currently eat up with cancer,  it's in his heart, liver, lungs and hip. He wants to take one more trip before making the ultimate journey, but I don't want to give him the mushrooms because if he was to pass away during the trip I don't know if I could live with myself knowing that I gave it to him.

What would you do if it was your dad and you have been sharing these experiences for decades? I feel bad for not giving it to him,  he tells me that I shouldn't worry about it because he is dead anyway, but I just ain't sure.

Fuck it man let him ride.

That’s a rough situation man I hope you and your mom are doing alright.

Are you worried the trip would stress him out enough to shut down his body? I think I read somewhere that one of the studies that returned some legitimacy to psilocybin was a terminal cancer thing. They had people recently diagnosed take a dose and their mindset was overwhelmingly better after. Some of them were miserable and freaking out and then during the trip were able to just accept the situation and enjoy what time they had left.

I can’t say for sure what I would do in your situation having never been there, but we know it’s not toxic or anything and if he’s all there mentally and that’s one of the things he’d like to do before he goes then why not.

Given the fact that as an actual drug, psilocin isn't too hard on the human body (it. Increased heart rate, depressed breathing, etc) it should be feasibly "safe". However, with any psychedelic journey there is an increased risk for anxiety which in turn could lead to an episode of rapid heart rate and increased breathing.

With the information you provided though, I'm gonna throw my hat into the ring of "you should give them to him". As long as you're able to provide the right set and setting (his house/favorite room, some of his favorite music, a few sober people that he loves with some knowledge of the experience, etc.) I think you'll be able to provide your father with an incredible experience that can help put him at ease with his diagnoses and accept his unfortunate circumstances.

Damn man I'm sorry to hear that I really am as I lost my father in 2018 :frown: I'm going to put my two cents in, if he is in sound mind and it is his conscious decision then yes I would absolutely give them to him.

Edit: that could literally be his dying wish. Idk about you but I dont think I could deny anyone I loved their dying wish....

As a guy that has been through cancer, chemo and radiation, I say share the shroom.  It's going to do more for him that you can know.

And flip it around - what would you want him to do if you were fighting the big C?

I vote not only yes, but a fairly strong dose as well.
I'd rather pass away at the peak of a strong trip around family, then in a hospital bed in the wee hours of the night, alone. The risk is worth it IMHO.

Not saying that anyone should or should not dose a person. But I will suggest that it’s possible one will experience a manifestation of survivors guilt regardless of what they do or do not do. One might decide to not dose a person and then regret not giving them one final beautiful send off.

I remember debating if I should dose my dad for his first time when he was in his mid sixties. He later said it was the greatest experience of his life. We have since dosed together and I’m super glad I had able to share it with him.

So, at the beginning of this pandemic...maybe a little before...I not only told my Dad was I growing mushrooms...I also showed him.  All of the tubs, the harvests, the jars, the prints, the syringes....everything.

He is surprisingly supportive and asks a whole lot of questions.  Mostly, "How you do this?" in a thick, Slavic accent.  He even offered to buy me a new All American 921 PC, but I don't think I can put that on a ceramic glass top stove.

He is 70, but thankfully, open minded.  To him, it's good, honest work.  He knows what the shrooms are for, but in his eyes, I'm just the farmer and farming is God's work.

1st off, my dad has more experience with magic mushrooms than I have and I have been at this for 35+ years now, he is definitely experienced. As a matter of fact my very first experience was by accident, I drank mom and dads koolaid they had leftover from their weekend party they had while I was on a scouting trip.

I'm not worried about the mushrooms hurting him, it would be more about my own personal guilt that I could possibly contribute to his demise.  I'm aware of the cancer research studies, but not one of those patients had cancer of the heart and that is the only thing that gives me reservations.

@shroomerintherye thats really sweet  and I'm glad he recognises the amount of fuckin labour these little shiteaters take to grow. . .

@doc9151 I confess, it has taken a while for me to put a certain print of wild Pan Cyan under the microscope, but I'm getting it done tonight . . .
