I haven't felt like tripping, and the weather is just right... I think I'll wait until July 4th: celebrate my personal independence, as july 3rd of last year was my last day working for someone else... I strongly urge anyone feeling the pressure, and also the fear of doubt... TAKE THE LEAP! If you flop, so what? Get another job, you got the one you have? One life, live that shit

That hits me Hits me hard. Cause Im definitely feeling the crushing weight on my soul of working jobs I hate for the last decade +. Working at home doing something I really like would be a dream to me. Youre fortunate you get to do it.

No... I DID IT! And so can you ... really!
It got to a point where the pain of NOT following my heart was worse than the fear of falling flat on my face... I could no longer hold my posture looking in the mirror, and enough was enough: for me... it's been hell at times: loads of blood sweat and tears LITERALLY... I'm NEVER going back though

It’s a lot easier to put in the overtime when everything you do is for yourself.
I cannot handle working for a few bucks an hour to make somebody else money. I’ve had people think I’m lazy because I didn’t want extra shifts or to stay late.
But it’s not that I’m lazy, you pay me the bare minimum you can so I do the bare minimum work. I’ve had a lot of jobs and very few people know how to treat employees.
When I’m working for myself I have no problem living and breathing the work.
I’ve been lucky in the sense that I’m responsible for me and some dogs, so I’ve been able to risk everything with very little consequence if it goes bad. If it does then its back to a shitty job until the next venture.
Too many people are terrified of risk. Even if it’s risking a job or life you don’t particularly like. Usually the worst case scenario is failing and making basically a lateral move to some other situation you’re not exactly fond of, but the potential reward is to answer to nobody and be much happier, even if you aren’t immediately wildly successful.

Im sure. Im not particularly business savvy tho, I wouldnt know how to go about securing steady buyers. I mean, youre basically starting a grocery delivery kind of business with it. Ive thought about it tho. I know I could grow the product, but its a lot to get into when its more than a hobby.

I’m in the process of trying to get an edible side business started. Once I learn how to grow them well the plan is to hit farmers markets.
Seems like you’d move enough mushrooms and eventually network into a constant customer flow without having to scale up at a crazy pace.

I confess that I have been married twice, 20yrs the 1st round and I've been with #2 for 13 yrs married 7yrs, 1st wife was training for 2nd wife, I had to learn how to be a proper husband, but that's not what ruined #1 it was my strokes and her selfish reasons. Marriage is what you make it, if you do nothing to make it better than you get what you sow, but sometimes it's not you and getting out will lead to more personal growth and better life quality. To many people let sex determine compatibility and that's the last thing that should be considered. I think people should live together for 5yrs minimum before marriage, if you don't know someone in 5yrs then you haven't been paying attention.

The main advantage I guess would be if you’re not confident you’ll be able to pour without contaminating but I really don’t think thats ever happened, even when I was first starting and fumbling plates all over.
I’ll find out soon though I just got some reusable ones.
I like no pours, such as the glad mini rounds tek for tiger dropping. I pour my plates and do xfers, but at last plate I make a mini round just so I can tiger drop the whole puck into grain or liquid, makes it easy and fast. So is LI once you get it down, but still fun to do

glad rounds are my favorite, but have not been able to find them lately, the lids fit better and Last longer than the ziploc brand, but if you want to do bulk grows regularly I would move on to LC.

Ok, I gotta get it off my chest. Probably because I'm a noob, it's probably always been this way and I was tempted too! But I wish some noobs wouldn't all of a sudden become advisors. Are the experienced ones taking a break and cracking up. Are they paying enough rope out to get hung. Three times one has been schooled that I've seen. Once would be enough for me... Ok, feel better now...

Yeah man I was super wary of that when I first started. I ignored everything posted by anyone but tcs and a couple other people that clearly knew what they were doing.
Idk what’s going on recently but there’s just been a flood of new people who don’t want to do any reading at all. That kind of thing really bugs me. One of them even flipped out when I said all the answers were on the first page of the thread and said “why would I read it when I can just have somebody tell me.”
Imo you’re a waste of life with that attitude. Go send your butler to buy you some street shrooms, I mean why would you grow when you can have somebody do it for you.

See and it pays to do the reading, because then you get to be the one doing the schooling.
I know Krombipulos and I aren't THE most seasoned vets here, but collectively we have about 12 years of growing experience under our belts. Any time I give an answer, it's with the best intentions of helping someone along.
Now, I am not going to go and break down a whole tek for you, but if I can word it in a way that makes it easier for someone to grasp, then that's a job done well imo
It's like anything you start. If someone threw a astrophysics text book at you and said "read and comprehend everything in it in an amount of time that won't interfere with your every day life and I want it done by Friday", you'd probably say fuck you. But a good teacher has to guide their students through the theory, before they can grasp how to make it practical.
I don't think it's unfair for us to be expected to explain things, but no, not the point of breaking it ALL down, when there is plenty of well articulated documents that aid in the learning process.
But I still love to share the knowledge where and when I can and if I don't know the answer, I'll typically keep it to myself and see if someone can confirm what I know.

Hey Folks some good topics here on this page. As for the leap of faith... inspirational Caps! Marriage, yes it is an interesting form of learning to be sure Doc... definitely requires paying attention. And yes sex is only a small part of it (wish it were more sometimes... but I'm getting old enough to where that urge is not quite as strong).
Inthepit, I'm sorry you had to learn the hard way, but there is learning in that too =). However, it is a good idea to seek a second opinion and sometimes that is just a matter of reading another thread, or another part of a thread. There are a lot of seriously misinformed folks with the swagger that they have it all figured out and often they are paraphrasing a single tek that was posted ten years ago and flawed at the time.
Listening to TCs is a helpful start, and or seeking their personal counsel in a PM. However, I'll be honest with you... I was dumbfounded when they gave me a TC tag! I'm not worthy!!!
I would rate myself a solid cultivator with a reasonable amount of experience but there are many more deserving members without the TC tag.
Confession of the day... I'm only on a part time contract right now, but I really just want to cultivate all day!
I've got a lot of exotic projects going right now... strange challenging mushrooms that don't yield much and take forever. Case in point, made a transfer from a Ps. Subaeruginosa plate this am. Took about 6 weeks to germinate and I'm hoping the transfer I made is a bit faster. Maybe if all goes well I'll have a bunch of fruits in the fall of 21...
