I confess,
I spent all day on cultivating mushies when I was supposed to be doing responsible things.
I prepped my grain jars, LC Jars, Grain soak agar, pasteurized my straw and spawned to it, made a log for them blue oystas.
Wanted more so I ran down to the local feed store to nab a 50lb bag of oat feed and a bail of hay.
Now I'm getting ready to throw some agar down the gullet of them grain jars and transfer some of that myc into my LC jars.
Got 10 varieties ready to go.
I feel like Quagmire after discovering internet porn.

I regret nothing.

I confess I'm loving I mean lovin' 75x15mm pp5 reusable pertis. I bought 3 dozen and 2 250ml media bottles. They are so much easier to transfer from and work with than no pours. I put 9 in a glad 1qt screw top (mudas fav) upside down foil the lid and cook them all for 45 mins. I leave the now sterile package foiled up in the container until I'm ready to pour. When it's pour time I remove the foil flip it over onto it's lid, unscrew it and lift it off, put I back on after pouring and move to the back of the box. I've been wrapping with Saran wrap cut into 1.75in chunks.
I have been prepping agar in the instant pot as well. 1g dextrose, 4g potato flakes, 4g agar 200ml h2o. Pcd for 45 mins at 11.2 psi avg 15 psi peak. I need to get 2 more bottles to fill it up each run.
It's been nice to prep these and be able to pour when I get a chance. Condensation has been almost a non issue vs my old no pours. Storage is easier too. I can fit over 2 dozen in a shoebox vs a dozen pasty plates or 8 of my old favorite no pour dishes. And I can grow them out more than a pasty too meaning less transfers for me.
I also get the hype about the #7 scalpel handle and #11 blade too. It's such a tiny change but make life easy vs an xacto knife. Despite all the naysaying I've heard here pp5 petris kick so much ass

I prefer a #3 handle myself for just doin transfers n stuff. Feels better to me. #7 is pretty solid for transferring to culture slant tubes tho.

I confess that I had to replate 50 cultures because I waited to long. My family is going through some rough times and it is affecting me in multiple ways. Last night my dads oncologist called to tell me that my dads cancer has spread to his heart and today my daughter is seeing her oncologist and I'm stressing more than I think I ever have in my life. Don't forget to tell those in your life that you love them.

It does, it's life kicking you in the balls and squeezing your heart at the same time. Right now, I feel like I'm on an opiate high, it has to be endorphins from the stress, it's like a Valium/dilaudid combination with a dash of serenity. I haven't felt anything like this since my early days in the military were we were literally running search and rescue operations for 72 hours straight, no sleep. Sleep would be wonderful, but it eludes me or isn't restful, like I never actually sleep but I do because several hours will pass, even though I can hear the conversations taking place.
Thank you for the support, I appreciate you guys acknowledging me pain, being g able to talk about it really helps and my family leans on me to help them make sense of it all because of my background but what they don't understand is that it's not the same when it comes to close friends and family, especially our children.

What is the UFO? Did we talk about this one? Is it a KSSS variety?
I confess I would if I could get my hands on the original KSSS for Circuit 2005. My favorite cube to eat of all time.
The above post was at AKA and know I realize I was a whole page behind so nothing makes sense.
Doc I hope everything works out for you and your family. That kind of stress can be hard to handle, I know from experience. One day at a time. We all got your back if you need anything.

Yeah it’s a super short fat ksss sub strain or whatever.
Idk where the picture is but the spores I was sent were from what looked like just thick red caps growing out of the surface.
I really hope I get some of those, most of the pics I see are more short barrel shapes like you see with PE sometimes.
There’s another peyote version I would fucking love to have too but I’ve only seen one or two grows of it from a long time ago.
Ok found it. This is popacaps grow

So bad ass. Makes me want to just crank out ms until I get one the size of a cd to clone.
Lol the one regular cube.

I would totally clone the reg.
Man those are cool. Like red boy with the KSS mutant.
Well print one for me buddy cause I'm gonna cross it with my PEU that just keeps putting out regular mushrooms haha.
I confess I need a bigger growing area. I hear realestate is getting cheep now thanks to covid.

I confess, I've thrown away 5 66qt monotubs bc they wouldn't pin. Also I am at a total loss why this happened. Too wet maybe, change of seasons, lack of fae.
This one I'll keep around for a few more days but I have low expectations of it.
 Spawned 4/28
Idk what I'm doing wrong. Maybe I G2G'd the wrong jars (I don't have a keen sense pf smell so that's totally possible).
Out of my last 7 monotubs 5 have been chucked and 2 were the best grows I ever did, with over 2 kilograms each tub.
With like 40 more jars incoming to be spawned I'm feeling anything but confident atm
Should I quit large tubs and go back to single jar grows? I'm lost guys

I have had some tubs take a long time to pin...
If your sub starts shrinking it's going to pin soon. No shrink would make me worry after 20-30 days.

Damn man you’re tossing tubs with surfaces like that because they haven’t pinned at 14 days??
I had a pesa lc I made three tubs with and two took around 25 days to pin it was crazy. But 14-15 days isn’t near long enough imo.

It was over 3 weeks.. the one from the pic I'm keeping around for now.
Why would they take longer to pin than the others from the same culture do you think?
I have never had anything take that long before, except my RW clones in the midst of winter. But I'll keep this one untill it pins or goes green..
