And a steam inlet+generator. I actually operated a similar sterilizer to make Tofu at a previous job. I think you could do about 6 90-minute batches that way in 12 hours. That's half an hour per batch left to fill jars or bags, water, get temps and psi up, and release pressure and empty again. It would be doable...
No disrespect taken, that's definitely a freakin cool unit. I honestly wish I had one myself! I was just sayin' for the sake of sayin'; I wouldn't "pooh-pooh" it just because it's got a lot of bolts.

Another confession.. I often look at shroomery (the hobby) as if it were an online game. You can collect cultures and grow out what you like or need, you can learn about the medicinal effects and become a mycomedic, you need to save up for supplies, trade stuff with other online gamers, get your skill levels up, do several long-time missions (have a city built) and while it's being built do some extra's on the side (a PF cake just for funsies), you can challenge other players, heck, you can even do an arcade game with another player while you wait for the PC or for the agar to cool a bit. You can look up cheats and shortcuts, but you'll receive flack and end up missing that special item you needed, it's all the same. Gave me a better understanding of my gamer friends. Still, their games are fucking lame. Shroomery is the best fucking game ever invented. It's the motherload.

The other day I was cooking grainns and I heard a weird noise over on the other side of the living room and my dog came out and was staring at the fireplace I ignored it for a good 15 minutes until I heard it again and then I went and got closer and figured out it was a bird that got stuck in the fireplace chimney. That day was the only time all week I had to do anything mycology related and fuck me if a damn bird was going to ruin that for me. I was freaking out thinking that he was going to die and then I'd have to call maintenance but I didn't want to call them until I was done using the pressure cooker. Shrooms are life

I mean like a threaded reusable pressure cook-able petri dish every no pour vessel has either a shitty colored top or a crazy lock on the lid or something.
man, I don't know how you had the patience.. I accidentally did that once and I ended up just throwing the trivet away, thankfully it peeled right off of the pc with the trivet.

I don't have the patience. I used to get angry, and now when shit like that happens, most of the time I just feel all energy seeping out of me, break down, and start scrubbing. Then when I'm done it's like 3 am and pooped even more...
Another confession today.. I lost track of my rice while simmering yesterday, too much other things going on at the same time, but I still tried to PC them. Added a little gypsum before PC, seems like they clump even more. Don't know if the gypsum is to blame though. Anyway, I'm thinking of maybe opening them back up and using them to make bottle grows or something... Got a master almost ready, no good grains, and was planning on going to hpoo anyway... Or I'll drop by the organic food store to pick up some oats.. Dunno yet, too pooped. Hey, at least it's 1 am instead of 3 now... Fucking WBR, really, I'm done with it. Shitgrain. Don't even eat it anymore, starchy moth******** LAST FUCKING TIME

this is from one time I dropped my phone in the toilet and had to leave it in rice (I washed the phone first) anyway it was minute rice and I cooked it as the instructions told me too because I wasn't really thinking about how we like it a lot more wet than mushrooms do. so I layered dry grass seed with it in a small tray and covered with foil, pc'd and stabbed 4 times with a spore syringe that I couldn't get to germ on agar, using micropore after inoculation. it still came out way wet so I had very low hopes for this tray but its on it's third flush now and it's actually done something without molding

I just thought of some other solution. I have polyfilled holes. What if I take out the poly inside the SAB, insert a flamed piece of stiff metal wire (bicycle wheel spoke) in the hole, swirl it around a bit to get the clumps separated, pull the wire out, double micropor, layer, done. x10 jars. It's a contam vector, but with a 71% ISO cotton puffball around the hole while swirling the wire, I think it should work fine to prep them for a G2G...

I confess I'm eating dried shrooms right now, forgot how awful they tasted as I always make tea.

not that I have a problem with eating dried shrooms as is, but making soup will get you tripping faster than eating, even if you count in the time to make soup (if you're not going all out, that is)
