I confess I may have fucked up. It has been eight or nine days now since a recent back injury. It has debilitated me like never before. Have managed to get some myco stuff done through the pain and can't give full attention as I would. Went into my grow cabinet this morning and discovered the temperature had risen to 88 degrees. almost 100% of my plates and tubs and jars are in this cabinet. I open the door turn the fan back on I'm trying to cool it down, but I'm sincerely concerned that I just wiped out almost my entire cult operation.
Doc, my sincere condolences. From your words it is clear Uncle Bert was a special person in this world and will be missed, surely by many. I don't want to diminish the importance with an anecdote or offer the default sympathies that we all know on these times. All I can say is your words of this person has increased their reach in the world and added to their life's work. It is not solely up to you to keep their memory alive, we can all carry him on. Grieve is a way that you see fit and in a time that fits you.

Thank you everyone for the kind words, they are much appreciated, seems like I just can't catch a break sometimes but I know that it could be so much worse. This is the time of year that can really test someone's resolve, just know that you are loved and you do matter to someone.
I confess that I wish for peace on earth, an end to famine and goodwill for mankind. Happy Holidays Shroomery family!!!!

Caps donβt go into cultivation withdrawals. Itβs always highly suggested to keep a pocket petri, exacto knife, plastic bag, agar agar and some string with you at all times.
I confess Iβm really not into babysitting tubs and Iβm trying but itβs tough lol

That's not what I meant, but it does look like that. Should say I wish goodwill for mankind, thanks for pointing out my error.

even if there were not four different time zones I highly doubt everybody involved will be streaking plates at the stroke of midnight on the 1st

I confess I did it again.
I bought more jars instead of cleaning the ones I have in storage. To be fair though, to clean the old jars would mean first shoveling the ice and snow out to my garage which just simply isn't going to happen right now.

I confess I'm guilty of that multiple times as well Randalf. Only thing that's holding me back from buying more now is that would mean I would have to make more sfd lids.

I've been being super lazy about it, and just putting in a entire filter disc on top of the jar screw in the lid down. I did pick up some RTV silicone last night though so I might make some lids today. On a related note, Grimm, how large do you make the hole in the lids when you put an SFD on it. I've been doing a 1\2 inch hole just because that's what seems right. Don't think I ever actually saw a measurement

Honestly I have never used poly. And my intention with sfds was never to actually seal patches onto lids. They are cheap enough, and I never have an insane amount of jars go in at once, so it is not cost-prohibitive to just buy one sfd per jar, slapping on the lid and screw it down done.
But I have some time and I've been bored so I was thinking about giving it a shot. I was also going to silicone some of my two piece lids into one. when I first started all this, it was reading about polyfill and dialing it in in so many people's posts about having issues with it. I already had some micropore tape laying around and it worked well enough so I never really felt like dealing with the hassle of polyfill. But who knows, in another year maybe I will be a outspoken proponent for it
