Read the part where I said I pushed way too much PP's in it :p didn't fit more water or the PP's didn't fit. Which was not really useful anyway :p
Ok, so then it's actually pretty normal for my PC to run dry. With taller jars it can usually JUST take 2 hours but the PP's were stacked double so I couldn't fill any higher.
Saving up for a new one it is. Sadly 13 liters is the biggest I can find here in western Europe. Goes for around 150..
Trypt, to my understanding that could be hidden contams, yes.

True Confession... I want to prep grains Ssssooooooo bad!!! I saw my AA 941 in the garage when I went to get something and I just want to stop this work I've been doing for days for my job (including weekends) and just chill and cook up some grains and load jars and read Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms while I'm waiting for the timer to go off... and maybe drink a beer or two or have some Kratom, or both...
Next weekend I can do it - looking forward to it.

I got a nice long weekend coming up to prep and cook a good few jars. I'm gunning for 20 (I can only do 4/5 a time. Small PC.)
Confession:
I'm growing one more batch of oysters just to lend some legitimacy to this op. Blue , since they like colder temps and its going into winter here. I also confess to not actually checking the temperature my spawn jars are sitting in. its WAY too cold. I'll check the temp again but its like 15* C during the afternoon now.
Anyone got ideas on how to atone ? should I get a space heater for my room?

Or a terrarium heating pad. Uses only 7W and provided that all the jars fit on top of it, it will definitely give off enough heat. Though with 15℃, I wouldn't add heating at all. It will colonize a bit slower, but raising temps too high gives contams a better chance. You could also put the jars in a tote/plastic box, and when you get out of bed in the morning put your box under the covers. It will only keep them just a bit warmer but that's all you really need anyway...

LOL!!! My mom's face would do that if she even knew I was growing them. And I'm nearly 50 years old! Just be glad you can even talk about it and buy her some flowers!

That's the first question anyone seems to ask me about mushrooms. That and "will I die?"

Confessions: I cannot do SAB work without listening to Die Antwoord. I love growing my own food, so much that I'll never buy another mushroom as long as I live. My cats sit on my SAB and watch me work sometimes.. I'm debating quitting my PoS job and applying to mushroom farms outside of town. This is more then a hobby once you start, it becomes a lifestyle. I'm super grateful that the love of my life helps me prep grains. This might be the best thread in mush cult.
